Excellent stay. We only stayed one night since we had other reservations at other hotels and we regret that because this was by far the best hotel we stayed at. Beautiful room, clean, great towels, shower, view. Amazing pool!! Great pool area and restaurant. Staff so nice and service minded. I can highly recommend this place to everyone and this is where we will stay next time we come to Mahjenga.

For our second visit, the place was even better. The service is awesome, towels are plush and comfy, staff is friendly and professional. The managers were very helpful to assist when one of us fell sick, they showed us some new things to do (quad, circuits), and made us feel at home.
The food and the service at the restaurant are fantastic and deserves a 5*.
Hôtel was full during our visit but was not specially noisy. We had a suite close to the restaurant. Perfect for a family with 2 kids. We're already planning to come back in 2021.

I was privileged to spend 1 night here and it was awesome.  The view of the water was amazing.   The restaurant on site was excellent as well.  The only thing, didn't have enough time to fully explore this property.  Maybe next time.

Rooms are suite that accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. Design is very nice, beddings are comfortable, an evening service prepared the bed for the girls every day. Shower is the best design you can find in Majunga. We didn't have breakfast there but we enjoyed dinner 2 times. Food was very good, with kids friendly meals. Service was perfect, beware of mosquito though. The pool is small but is very clean, and you can lounge till late. Staff service is among the best I ve seen in Mada.

We’ve not stayed at the Karibu Lodge, but ate there every single day we were in Mahajanga.
It was the best food we had on our 21-day trip through Madagascar. Especially the zebu carpaccio, steak and fresh-of-the-grill fish were delicious. Beside that, the staff was very friendly, attentive and accomodating. Every night (5 in total) we were met with nothing but service and great food/drinks.
Since Mahajanga was kind of quiet and had not much places for tourists, this was a very chill place to stay and relax.
The most memorable and spectacular aspect is the sunset: you can observe the Sun going under in the horizon of the sea, right as you sit at the porch/terrace enjoying your drinks and overlooking the menu. And a big bonus: the food/drinks are relatively cheap, especially considering the great quality! (Aprox. 15000-20000 AR for a very satisfying main course)

My employer booked this hotel for me because it's reasonably priced and I expected a pretty decent hotel, but Karibu Lodge exceeded my expectations.  It's a modern, well-decorated hotel with bilevel suites that would be great if one person wants to rest and the other work or watch TV.  The view every evening at sunset is phenomenal from every room, the wifi signal seems to be strong everywhere on the property, and the restaurant is pretty impressive in its own right.  Beds are comfortable, service is pleasant and responsive.  The only down side is that TV channels are a bit lacking - they don't live up to the channel list that's provided - but I didn't come to Mahajanga to watch TV, fortunately!  The property also has a smallish pool that's cleaned every day, and you can have meetings in the covered area near the pool or in the restaurant area - the bar is open all day.  If you enjoy running, head out the door and go left to head downtown, or head right to the boardwalk, where you'll see scores of other runners in the morning.

We arrived in the dark and we were surprised with the beautiful 2 level rooms. All very comfortable, well equipped but we only stayed 1 night . In the morning we saw the small infinity pool and the sea. The food was okay. I am vegetarian and they didn't know what to offer me - this was strange.

I wouldn't say Mahajanga is your traditional holiday destination, but Karibu Lodge is offers an overall decent package. The rooms or spacious and well put together with beautiful views of the sunset. The food is was good. As a one line comment I would say this is not somewhere you choose to go for a beach holiday destination, but it's perfect if you find yourself in Mahajanga.
