Panela Hostel is a cheap place to stay, close to the bars and party life in El Poblado. Its in a perfect localion being halfway between the metro station and El Poblado park.
  They make great cappuccinos and served the coldest cheapest beer in town.
The bar front was made up of old draw fronts and behind it on the wall was a great big airoplane painted.  We would sit in the chairs by the street and people watch while drinking our beers.
 The ceiling had wooden support beams with lots of information notice boards scatered between them. There is a patio, and pictures and poster everywere, also there is an information table with lots of travel and sightseeing panphlets.

TIP: There is a good Italian eatery opposit and a craft brewery one street down

Cheap and Cheerful

We booked a room for two and they gave us a nice one with a double bed and a bunker bed. Their coffee place is really cute, nice decoration and cosy. Big plus : they provide towels for shower for free ! :)

Although we didnt stay here, we came here every day for drinks, and conversation! Carolina is an amazing, friendly hostess!
Cold beer, good cappuccinos & relaxing atmosphere!

Amazing staff!

Located in the lively 'Poblado' neighbourhood, this welcoming hostel is a good choice to stay.
Basic rooms but a bit noisy, with possibility to take a warm shower in the shared bathrooms.
Nice patio and friendly owners.
Beers and bites at reasonable prices.

Good value at a central location

Well located and close to the underground, this place is very chilled. Quiet even though there is a bar on-site.
Accommodation are very good for the price and the staff is great!
Recommend it if you plan to stay a few days in Medellin.

Excellent

I stayed in a couple of hostels in Poblado and this is by far the best I’ve found. Really cheap price for the dorms and also the bar prices are the lowest you’ll find in Poblado! The staff really are lovely and will do anything for you, including laundry service for a small fee. Highly recommended and will definitely stay again!

Cheap central hostel in Poblado, great staff, great value!

Stayed at the hostel for over a week in both the dorm rooms and private rooms. It is great value for money and is in a top location, centrally located in Poblado between the train station and nightlife districts. Hostel has a chill bar and cafe as well which is nice. 

Would stay again. 

Great hostel

We got a private room for a very cheap price. The room is small and looks old. The bathroom is not dirty nor clean, and the shower area gets inundated when you use it. The area looks safe enough to walk around at night and you can walk to the nightlife area. By the way, the hostel is well decorated in the common area and the receptionist woman is nice.
