Hilltop Escape Bed & Breakfast

Away from the hustle and crowds, its good if you have your own transportation. Beautiful spaces inside and out, and the most amazing breakfast. Better than any restaurant in the city. Karl and Elizabeth are fantastic hosts!

My husband and I - with a friend of us - stayed three days in that nice and new house, with beautiful view on the lake, quite rooms, a very good service, excellent breakfast and a unexpected hydro-jet pool in the garden.... a big pleasure at the end of our bicycle ride in Myra Canyon Park. Not in the centre of Kelowna but in a good position.

Karl and Liz have a wonderful B&B and the name is perfect given the view and distance from the hustle and bustle of Kelowna.  The breakfasts each morning were lovingly prepared and delicious; the tea and coffee assortment just right given the local options and the bedrooms and spacious, comfortable and clean.  Attention was put into making this a fantastic experience.  I will definitely be returning next time!

Karl and Elisabeth Buchegger run the Hilltop Escape B&B.  They are a wonderful couple, and have turned the lower level of their new home into a first class B&B.  The house is brand new, and is located on almost the highest street there is in the extreme south end of Kelowna.  Not a problem though, because the connections to other destinations in the city are very convenient, and easy to find your way around.  It is, however, also very close to some of the attractions you will find in Kelowna tour books. 

They have ample parking on property and also in front of the house.  the bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms very large and are supplied with top notch toiletries, to make you feel right at home. The beds are great, and if you stay multiple days, your room will be reset each day like you just arrived.  Beds very comfortable, large windows overlooking the garden and the city.  There is also a nice bar in the common room, and a TV room with a huge flat screen TV which is either Canadian Cable or Internet programs, so European visitors can watch programs from home. 

You will be simply amazed at the breakfasts that are served.  They will be 2 or 3 course, and the presentation is like being at a high cuisine restaurant and having two waiters serving you.  

The view from the property is excellent.  You can see a lot of Kelowna, the lake, and they have a wonderfully landscaped garden and a hot tub for you to enjoy.  

If you are a hiker, trails start only some 50 meters away from the front door, and there is a lot to see.  

The house and hosts are amazing, and wonderful people.  We would definitely stay here again if we get back to the area.  Incidentally for guests from Europe, the hosts both also speak German.

Personal, professional and delightful!

The best BnB in B.C.

I booked it for a househunting trip that I was initially supposed to take by myself. Because of the circumstances of the Ft. McMurray fire, my husband and son had to join me. When I called to change the reservation (one week before), she told me that they do not accept children, so we couldn't have the room but she would have to charge me anyway.  
I asked her to compassionately consider our circumstances - perhaps her other guests for the weekend wouldn't mind having a child stay with his parents (one 6 year old) - could she call them and confirm (I'd understand if they said no, but at least give us a chance?)  I very much wanted to stay there but because of her policies and our change in circumstances, we were unable to stay there — she was hesitating on the phone, so I kindly asked her to take some time to consider her options and to give me a call me back.  I did not receive a call back from her, and she charged my credit card for the stay.  $175 for services that I did not use!  I am VERY disappointed with her lack of compassion and her lack of professionalism - she did not even call me to tell me she was charging my credit card.  I'm sure it's a lovely location, and perhaps there are guests who have enjoyed their hospitality; however, I feel that a family run business could show some compassion towards another family and give some consideration to extenuating circumstances - it's just good business practice, in my opinion.  Kindness pays returns.  I would have loved to try it, but now I will definitely not recommend this place.
