I would highly recommend Pousada Nel Blu. Beautiful and relaxing place with a high attention to details. 
The owners are really friendly and welcoming. 
Food is delicious and the pizza is simply amazing!!!!

Amazing experience 

I stayed at Pousada Nel Blu a few days in September, 2015.  It's run by a charming Italian couple.  The place is beautiful (nice garden and sheltered outdoor dining area), clean, comes with a great breakfast, and quiet.  Naturally, it's right across the street from the beach.  I highly recommend it.

A Delightful Place to Stay

We stayed at this posada. It was a very relaxing place to be. Just in front of the sea, you just have to go up in the morning and walk to the water.

The rooms are simple but quiet an clean, and the couple running the hotel is really wonderful. They help you in everything you need :-)

Nice couple

Pousada Nel Blu is on the island of Itaparica (just 10-15 minutes from the historic town of Itaparica) I was there off season and it was very quiet. I had a slight taste of how crazy the beach area/life can be on the weekend so might want to stay away during the high season unless partying is your thing. The owners are Italian, transplanted to Brazil a little less than a decade ago. The rooms are simple but have everything you could ask for. Wifi does not work in the rooms but if you go to the communal area there are no issues. There are air-conditioners in the rooms for those inclined to use them. The showers are marvellous (always something I hope for and rarely get the pleasure to enjoy when I travel. Breakfasts are fairly good but the food, at supper-time, at their resto across the street, is excellent! No complaints. I'd return for sure.

Sweet, Simple, Pousada

This is a small lodging, owned by an Italian couple that know the world due to scuba diving, they finally decided to rest and selected this place in the world to spend the rest of their life, this small intro should be enough to say about the place, Island of Itaparica. The lodging is clean, extremely well mananged and has a fantastic location 50 yards across the beach. I strongly recommend it, you will love chatting with the owners, their incredible breakfast and their across the street home made pasta.
