Vila Galé Resort Marés - All Inclusive

We had a very nice time at the hotel. I’m reading some bad reviews and don’t understand how they could have had such a bad experience. The only thing that makes sense is that the reviewers are not familiar with Brazil in general. I have been to Brazil many times and have stayed in a good number of hotels; so I have an expectation of what Brazilian hotels and service is like. While it is not what you would expect at a 5 star hotel in the US or Bahamas or Europe for example, this hotel definitely is a step up from most of the other accommodations I have stayed at in Brazil. I would go back, the food and drinks were good and the property was really nice. I think they could do a better job at letting clients know when and where to get certain items (like the picnaha steak directly out of the grill by the pool); but it’s possible that they do this in Portuguese. In general when traveling to Brazil it is not common to hear English, so I wouldn’t have an expectation of easy communication in any hotel in Brazil. The spa was relaxing and offered a good massage for a fair price, the kids zone was great with slides and a mini trampoline park, the pools were of good quality and both adult and kid friendly. The beach is beautiful, safe, and quiet. I felt comfortable leaving my items unattended on a chair or on the sand which is not the norm in Brazil. I felt comfortable letting the kids explore the property, which is also not the norm in Brazil. If you think your booking an all inclusive like the Hyatt Zilara, you will be disappointed, but if you have stayed at other properties in Brazil you will likely be happy. The room was clean and comfortable; the staff was super friendly and the variety of food was nice. I’m not sure why people mention a minimum night stay as we only stayed for 3 nights; Maybe they are booking through a 3rd party site. One last comment; the entertainment was of good quality; singing and dancing traditional Brazilian music.
