Villa Amfora

When planning a trip for 9 people that includes a road trip from Zadar to Dubrovnik, there are many things that can go wrong. Searching for a cheap place to stay for 9 people outside of Dubrovnik seemed near impossible. Luckily for us, our good friend stumbled upon Villa Bili and it did not disappoint. Originally, we were to take our time driving the coast of Dalmatia to Villa Bili, which sits above the Northern side of the Bosnian border checkpoint, about an hour and 40 minutes from Dubrovnik. The change in our plans sent us straight to Dubrovnik and then back tracking the hour 40 to Villa Bili after night fall. First, let me warn you, driving to Dubrovnik is a thrill or a heart attack, depending on who you are. Windy, cliffside roads with reckless drivers and large buses make for a scary drive at some times, but the scenery and cities are well worth it. Villa Bili sits down on a hillside and if you're driving too fast, you'll miss it, but this little hidden gem was worth the drive. After driving most of the day, rushing through Dubrovnik and driving back to the apartments, they let us check in late. We had a great, authentic Croatian dinner complete with plenty of Karlovacko beer then spent some hours just relaxing by the beautiful Adriatic. The next day we woke up to a stunning view and spent a good 3 hours in the water and on the beach at Villa Bili where they let us hang out past our check out time to enjoy the sea. I would definitely recommend this place to any one making the trip towards Dubrovnik.
