Viva Fortuna Beach by Wyndham, A Trademark All Inclusive

Stayed February 1 to 8 2025, with my wife and 2 boys (10&7). I'll start off by saying the check in process was a little tedious, as almost our whole plane was going to this resort, so everyone was checking in at the same time. Lineup was long, but I went to the bar to grab a couple of beers to stand in line with, made the time fly by. From then on it was an amazing experience. The resort itself is quite nice looking, the lobby, the main bar, buffet, the pool area, and the grounds are just beautiful. The groundskeepers do an amazing job. The Beach has to be one of the best I've ever been to. Soft white powdery sand, that stretches as far as the eye can see in both directions, and is very deep (wide). We never felt like it was crowded on the beach, and spent most of our time there, literally hours every day. Water was a mix of blues and turquoise, and up to about your waist or so, very clear. The buildings have a very nostalgic beachy motel kind of look to them, 2 floors, several different blocks of rooms. Rooms are spotless, as is the rest of the hotel. Very impressed with the overall cleanliness. The food in the buffet was amazing, so good in fact, that we never bothered with the a la carts (other guests told me they were good too). My wife is gluten intolerant, and vegan, and the sous chef was more than willing to accommodate her. Virtually every meal we had was at the buffet, and we enjoyed everything we tried. There is a beach bar with burgers, hot dogs, fries and nachos, all were good as well. The staff was great, didn't find any of them to be rude, and most seemed to be smiling, and joking, and looked happy. There are a few that I have to mention, as I believe they stood out for their attention to detail, friendliness, and willingness to go above and beyond. Sous Chef Emanuel (Brought in from Viva Mexico) I could literally write another review just on him, he really went the extra mile, happily, and consistently. Maintenance manager Marcial stopped me a couple times during my stay on the paths, to make sure everything was ok, ie water pressure, heat etc. Shelly from housekeeping for doing a fantastic job, every day cleaning our room, no easy feat with my boys! Always smiling too. Bartenders Camal, Nadia, and Pedro kept a fun vibe going, and served up delicious drinks in speedy fashion. Rokesha who was setting tables, and bussing in the buffet, always said hello, was smiling, and very attentive. There's excursions, archery, tennis/pickleball courts, trapezes, and a very decent gym too. If you're thinking about booking here, do it! I'm not sure where any of the negative reviews came from, maybe from 'karens' expecting too much? This was honestly the best vacation I've had, I've been to Cuba, Dominican, Jamaica, Europe several times, this was the best. This 6'3" 230lb 50 year old man, literally fought back tears when I left, it was an amazing experience, and I can't wait to go back. I feel recharged. Gen X, this is our jam.
