We stayed at Dunkley's for 2 nights.... basic and simple with a touch of Bali inside... but the views were breathtaking. To see the sunrise along with a field of mist with colours only an artist would love, was just divine. To watch the chickens from your balcony, show the other birds just who's boss, was funny; however the sunset snaps we have will be some of the best pictures we have taken this year.

Breathtaking views

This is great budget accommodation! We really enjoyed our 12 night stay over Christmas/New Year 2016-2017! Beautiful views, very peaceful and central to all of the highlights of the Tablelands. The room included basic cooking facilities, fan, ensuite, verandah, shared coin washing machine/clothesline and undercover parking. Friendly hosts, all good! Recommended!

A Great Place to Stay, Central to Everything!

I have just left here after a wonderful 3 night stay. The hotel was perfectly situated for exploring the tablelands (if you have a car). Our room was huge compared to others for the same price, the bed was comfy, there was a flat screen tv, kettle, hob, microwave and grill  (inside our room so no battling for space to cook with other travellers). The shower was great- really powerful!! Loo roll, soap, washing up liquid, tea towels and bath towels all provided. Wifi really fast too! The owners were extremely kind and gave a brilliant list of things to do locally. Go and enjoy this wonderful place, it's a real hidden gem and a great deal!! 

The best place we have stayed in Australia!

My mate of 50 years had terminal lung cancer so we caught the Sunlander from Rockhampton to Cairns hired a car went to the tableland and had a really good time just yarning,we had a grouse trip the train ride was awesome,the little place at malanda was really good for 2 blokes.Nothing flash just right.

I avoid the bright lights and this was an ideal bucolic location at an excellent price. At that price the edges are rough so if you usually go upmarket perhaps best you stay elsewhere. Rooms include basic kitchenette and laundry. It is near Lake Eacham; a must see in my opinion. But, and big but, when I was there my room was plagued with mice. The owner was struggling to deal with them. Apparently they are a seasonal problem; so be warned. The owner tells me that some rooms are more affected than others; clearly my room was one of those most affected.
