This hostel was very basic, good for a couple nights. Fairly clean shower/toilet facilities. In general, the hostel seemed a little bit run down, but fine. Not much of an atmosphere but only a short walk to Perth city centre. Fairly cheap prices, but again, you’d only want to stay for a couple nights.

Good but basic hostel

first of all you check in inside a dodgy looking and dirty convenience store.. when I approached the lady saying I've booked online and would like to check in she just looked very confused and then said there's no rooms left... I asked if I could speak to the manager and she picked up her phone and had a 10 minute conversation with someone (presumeably the manager?) in Chinese then just said sorry nothing left even though I had my booking confirmation from booking.com. She didn't offer any help just told us there's another hostel around the corner. I told her to please cancel from her end because if I cancel I still get charged, as part of the conditions. The next day $55 was debited from my account. Currently trying to get it back. Disgusting customer service don't go there you will risk getting ripped off

Double booked my room so I was left  stuck with no accommodation and they still charged me

Having booked a private room for two nights before reading the previous reviews, we became a bit worried that we were heading to a hell hole... However the staff at the little shop in front and the other people staying here were friendly and pleasant. The kitchen, bathrooms, showers and toilets were quite tidy. The kitchen has plenty of kitchen utensils and cooking facilities. The manager who we met once, was friendly and turned the air con on for us.
Another good thing is the location, there are plenty of restaurants and food courts on James Street and the free city Blue Cat bus has a stop right outside the backpackers.

Only one thing that may frustrate working people, during the weekend the night club/strip club that is next door operates into the early morning with loud bass music.  

Quite Tidy, Good Location

This place is terrible for tourist as the facilities are pretty dull. Kitchen are always in the mess and noises can be heard after midnight even though some notice already been showed like everywhere in the hostel (lower down the noise, clean all the dishes, keep the place clean etc) Most of the people are here for working holidays, they stayed more than a month or longer. They will go out late at night especially during weekends and if you are light sleeper, avoid this place. 

I'm not sure if its safe or not not to lock your door because most of them don't. The door knob is a big problem and its never be fixed and still need to pay for the room key deposit, is ridiculous.

The boss never appeared in the hostel to look after the place or deal with any problem we facing. Some of my room mates (6 bed female dormitory)are way better than the real boss in dealing all kinds of problem they face in there. You have no idea who I actually running the place.

Only 1 thing is good about this place-LOCATION.

Terrible in Management

The only good thing of this backpacker is its location.

Room and shower area are dirty and bad management. They just don't care after receiving money. Some people made noise at 2am midnight and acted ignorant to shout  and laugh loudly. The backpack does has a rule to keep your voice lower after 10pm, then please at least make sure others especially the ignorant people aware about this rule. Seriously, had a really bad times living in this place.
