Spent three nights in the Homestead with five friends. Arrived Friday mid afternoon and pleasantly surprised to find the homestead warm and the fire was not even lit. We found that having the fire going all day and into the night kept the house lovely and warm, did not feel like we were staying in the snowy mountains region at the end of May. Beds were comfortable and everyone commented about the great pillows. All except two single beds in the open bedroom, had electric blankets. Some of us used them on the first night but the house was so warm, did not need them on. 

Two of our ladies went on the horse ride on the Saturday. The horse riders were given very thorough instructions before departing for their ride, they felt very comfortable and enjoyed the ride. The rest of us went on a four wheel drive with Phoebe who was great, full of knowledge and information about the region. Have to say the vehicle probably needs to be upgraded especially with the driver side mirror hanging on with tape. We saw brumbies along the way. They were very friendly and when we stopped they came up to the vehicle. We met up with the horse riders for our packed lunch. Thank you to Phoebe, Shemaya and Kelcy for making our Saturday outings such pleasant ones. 

Sunday was a day to do our own thing. We had “visitors” .. two mares and their foals. They too were friendly. We saw rabbits, deer, kangaroos, rosellas, lots of wrens and the paddock below the Homestead had all the horses grazing.

As far as the dirt road leading to the property, would be great if the local Shire Council could grade the road. It was like driving over corrugated iron sheets, definitely not for basic sedans. I was in an SUV and the vehicle rattled so we slowed down. The farm road had a few potholes but you could dodge those.

A couple of housekeeping things that could be looked at. The wardrobe in the front open bedroom was unusable with broken shelves and termite damage. The door handles for the main bathroom and adjoining toilet need to be tightened, almost came off in our hands. Could not find the switch to turn the tastic on in the main bathroom so appreciated that there was a column heater in there. Also could not find a light switch for the laundry. Need more teaspoons in the kitchen, we could only find three. The light bulb outside the main bedroom needs replacing. The hallway mat leading to the three bedrooms may need replacing, possibly one long mat and sturdier would be suitable. Not sure what can be done with the TV reception, wifi could be the problem. We persevered until we were finally able to access some free to air channels.

We have already booked for the same time in 2025. Look forward to another relaxing weekend at this fabulous resort. Again, thank you to our guides.

Relaxing, picturesque weekend

Great accomodation, very comfortable. Peaceful location. Our stay was topped off by a great High Country ride, guided by Abbie and Elka. They were outstanding! Very accomodating and considerate to our varied rider levels within our family. They did their utmost to ensure we had a great experience! Snowy Wilderness cabins are fantastic. 
We had the two bedroom cabin with another couple & it is a wonderful place to stay. Well equipped, great beds, spacious, fabulous wood fire in the middle of the living areas & quiet! 
BBQ, full kitchen & fridge and comfy lounges. Even had a visit late at night from some of the horses coming up to our door. Thoroughly enjoyable & fabulous 3 x night deal including full day horseriding. Brilliant value! 

Cozy Couples Retreat in The Snowys

What a great place, such a fun getaway.  We stayed in the 1br high county lodge, it was so comfortable & we really enjoyed our horse ride on the Friday, even spotted some brumbies.  Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a country getaway.  Great value as well with the Facebook 3 night special

May 3 night getaway

Four ladies, accommodation in 'The Homestead', not too cold, no snow.  We had a day of horseriding, which was very slow going, but great for novices.  I think those with more experience may have wished for more rugged riding.  Peaceful.  We could be as loud or as quiet as we wished.  Amenities, such as heat, showers, electricity were second to none.  Would recommend Snowy Wilderness Resort to anyone!

Great Getaway and experience Australia

We had the pleasure of spending the October long weekend here all 19 of us 10 adults and 9 children.  We were all accommodated in perfect comfort. I am quite fussy and can I say the linen on the beds was white and wonderful, the towels white,  lovely and fluffy.  The homestead and cottages we stayed in were all perfectly clean.
The weather was perfect so the cold was not a problem, however if it turned cold there were electric blankets on all the main beds along with oil heaters in all the bedrooms and a huge combustion fire place with plenty of good hardwood supplied and we are quite capable of stacking the fire and keeping it going overnight.
The horse ride was excellent with great quiet sure footed horses. Even for our competent riders they had horses to suit. Lots of spotting different animals from brumbies & deer to echidnas.

A great family weekend

We stayed 3 nights in The Cottage at Snowy Wilderness, it was warm and cosy with a log fire and completely surrounded by wilderness. We even had a few deer visit with us.
Access was easy and it was just what we expected and only 30 minutes from Jindabyne.

First class accommodation

We booked into the 1 br High Country Lodge the night before and after our 3 day horse trek. The lodge was just beautifully appointed with high ceilings, double glazed windows, a huge king bed with sliding doors so we could lie there and see the view out the front windows. 
A fully equipped kitchen and Weber Q BBQ outside made for some delicious meals.
The deep bath in the well appointed bathroom was really appreciated after our 3 day trek.
Under floor bathroom heating and a stone fireplace just rounded off a perfect stay....just loved it and highly recommended.

Amazing accommodation

We stayed in “The Cottage” in July for 3 nights. While this property was indeed the rustic cottage we had expected in a beautiful remote bush setting, we found it to be inadequately heated for the cold temperatures of the winter season. 
With only a fireplace and a small oil heater, it took a good hour-or-so before the place warmed up, given its cold stone walls, large windows and bare floors. It was actually somewhat depressing getting back every night to the dark, cold cottage and having to sit in our down-puffer jackets until a newly lit fire had warmed the place up. There were heating blankets on the bed which fortunately helped, but getting up in the morning we were again confronted by the same cold temperatures requiring the fire to be re-lit. We did raise this with Delia on our arrival, but she said that no one else had complained and, unfortunately, she offered no other alternate heating for us.

There were some other small issues that we reported to Delia – the non-functioning TV was promptly sorted, but the blown light bulbs in the kitchen were not replaced making it difficult to see what we were cooking. Although we found the cottage to be overall clean, the windows could have done with a clean and there were a few cob-webs hanging from the ceiling.

Came here for a friends engagement party and what a stunning 7000 acre property it is with quaint stone guesthouses and a beautiful stormy view. Staff are lovely and the function room in prime position at the top of the hill. Plenty of wildlife to be seen too!
