38 reviewsMy husband and I spent two months living in the hotel when we first got to Argentina, and still live in town. Manantiales is ultimately the only game in town for a good hotel. There are other options in Posadas (1 hour away), but this is the only one in the city itself that is a "real" hotel, in the US sense of the term. The staff here are super-helpful, and are very used to long-term travellers due to their proximity to Yacyreta. The beach is just a set of stairs away, and you can walk out the front door into the park. The casino is mainly slot machines, but the restaurant is pretty good (try the lomo a la pimienta). Their wifi can be spotty at times, and it is rural Argentina, so some services are spotty (ie, the water went out several times, and the power goes out fairly often when there is a big storm--but they have a hefty backup generator). Note that the restaurant does not serve lunch anymore--try Tio Bigotes on the main drag if you are looking for a good lunch. Parking is free, but can be at a premium during the busy summer months of December and January. Also, if you see the huge black dog that belongs to the owner--his name is Tom and he is friendly.
