The "Resort" is the worst i've ever seen. Why they call themselves a "Resort" is a big question. The hot water is not working (After asking them they always said in 5 minutes it's gonna work), the swimming pool is for babies (just about 40cm deep) and there is no furniture to sit / lay next to the pool. The funniest thing is the boy at the reception: 2 times he told me to wait a bit for my answer while he was playing a game on his phone (Clash of Clans - seriously?). When we asked for another bread he cut the one we already had into two pieces but wanted the money for two breads. They have two monkeys, but they are chained to a tree, and the chain is not long enough, so they have to suffer the whole day... The appartements are ugly, the bathroom is the worst. Everywhere in the rooms are spots of water on the walls. Additionally the rooms smell old.

I arrived in one of those tropical storms, was completely drenched on arrival but the warm welcome I received from Mr. Shen and his lovely wife made me forget the storm. The hotel is about 14 km from Mui Ne and consists of small bungalows, the whole area feels cosy and I really enjoyed the permanent sound of the sea.
The staff is very friendly, the food was delicious - try the Pan Xeos or of course the spring rolls. 
After five days there I was completly relaxed, long walks on the beach, with hardly anybody else there, I never felt the need to drive to Mui Ne itself. 
As well - Hai Dang is not expensive or luxurious but clean and very service minded. I definitely will go back there!

Quiet paradise if you just want to relax

Very poorly maintained resort. Pool is dirty, water greenish and unsafe for swimming, with just a few old chairs next to it (resort's photo must have been taken years ago when the pool was still operational). Every single window in the resort was filthy. No beach chairs. Revolting water feature in the garden outside our room.  On the positive side, this stretch of beach is quite clean, similar to the main beach in Mui Ne. The water on one day was especially clear and lovely, so you might like to consider other nearby resorts. 

A run-down resort with a filthy pool

We booked to stay here over Christmas because we wanted a secluded beach experience, which is what we got. It is very far from Mui Ne central town (we rented a battered bike from the resort for 150000VND a day, took us about half an hour to drive in each day), however if you are looking for a bit of seclusion it's a good choice. The resort restaurant serves decent food for a good price. We got room service which was lovely. The bungalows are nice and spacious. The staff are lovely and helpful. The gardens are extremely pretty and the pool is a good size.
I do have some criticisms- for instance the pool was not very clean, and also the beach front was under construction so we had to clamber over rubble to reach the beach. Also the beach was covered in rubbish. Lastly there are 2 sad looking pet monkeys chained up at the front of the resort, which many people might find upsetting.
So yes, it's not perfect, but it is extremely good value for money and nice and quiet if that's what you're looking for. Given our budget I don't think we could have got better and we had a lovely Christmas there.
