I only had very short time in Vietnam. I booked in Luci’s since I found it’s very near in tourist attractions, restaurants, malls, and bus station to/from airport. When I arrived in the hotel, they informed me that they’re having maintenance, it’ll be too noisy there so they have to transfer me to their other hotel. I don’t know why they are accepting bookings when they are doing something in their building. Luckily, the chubby Vietnamese girl from reception who talked to me is very friendly and said that they will get a taxi for me to bring me to their other hotel. She was so nice that I was fine with the hotel transfer. What pissed me off was the taxi driver who was very rude and doesn’t know where is he going so I wasted a lot of time finding the other hotel. When I found it, it was an old house. My room was in 2nd floor and there was no room boy to carry my luggage upstairs. Anyway, the room is clean. Price is cheap and breakfast is free.

This place is nice and clean. There is breakfast available (for free) but it consists of toast and jam and instant coffee. Still, if you buy some fruit or instant oats you can though together quite a nice bf on your own and save some bucks if you want. The sitting area in the lobby is cosy and the daily free beer (1/person) between 6 and 8pm a nice extra. We stayed in a double room with private bathroom and even though the bathroom was quite smelly the room was very clean and spacious (so was the bathroom). People smoking on the balcony if you have the room attached to it is not that pleasant because the room smells of smoke but only slightly.

Nice place 

This hostel is very cheap. The beds are comfortable and the curtain, lamp and plug by each bed is a nice touch. But the street is a little scary so I wouldn't stay here alone. There is a strong smell of paint or moth balls in the room. The breakfast is just bread and jam with sachet coffee with no milk. Also no towels or toilet paper was provided on arrival.

you get what you pay for

Had to stay here one night because i locked the keys into my airbnb across the street. It was three in the morning and luckily a dorm bed was available. Staff was fine at night when trying to buy a beer, but no atmosphere or people around. Then the next day i ask to leave my luggage while waiting for my flight and they flat out refuse. Even if i offer to pay money to Jane the receptionist. There are too many places similar to this in the area....find somewhere else. Or better yet, an airbnb.

Ok location, poor service and unfriendlt environment.

Very nice and cheap hostel located in backpacker zone in District 1. Room, bed and bathroom was always clean. Rooms have balcony. Very friendly staff. They have happy hour 6pm-8pm which you can get 1 free beer. In front of hostel is coffee maker from 7am to 2pm and have iced coffee with milk for 13k dongs. Hostel is close to city park, Bui Vien bar street, Ben Than market etc.

Nice hostel in District 1

Best part is location. It is near the bars in district 1.
No real social vibe going on here. Felt I was living in an unfriendly university dorm as many teachers their. Two of the big girl staff were really rude and unfriendly. I wondered if they were actual workers their or owners because little customer service.

Poor

Staying for two weeks at Luci was extremely pleasant. I was here with my handicap, even didn’t ask for a room downstairs, but the staff see that I needed it. The place on 174/4 Le Lai was for me the best and extremely helpful, because they offer me a bed on the downer floor on the downer bed, very comfi. I love this place. At 6 pm. 1 beer free and cheap at all. Nowhere else I feel so much home in the city of Saigon. You must search a bit to find it, but if you have it, it’s home sweet home feeling.

Perfect to stay, lovely staff

Nice comfortable beds in a large room. Everything was very clean and the people working here are very friendly! They all came to wave us goodbye when we departed to go to the north with our bikes. If you want to stay in a nice, quiet place for a good price in a great location you should definitely come here!

Great hostel right in the centre of HCMC!

Very clean and comfortable, air conditioning and fan in the room. We had a private bathroom which was clean, clean towels! The only downside to our stay here was that there were no breakfast options, but benh tran market is on 10 minute walking distance, also backpacker street is 5 minutes walking and across the street there was a mini street food market with tasty food for small price!
