We stayed in Unit #11 which is a downstairs 2B/2b condo unit.  Staff at the resort are very helpful and friendly. They are very responsive by email, phone call or they'll stop by in person. The microwave broke down and they had it replaced the next day. We wish they had towel hooks next to the master shower, provided a week's worth of coffee filters (we don't like to buy 100 filters for our stay and waste the rest), and more than 1 laundry detergent for our week stay.

Perfect for visiting Great Smoky Mountain National Park

My boyfriend and I stayed in a condo with two bedrooms two baths for 7 nights! Upon arriving we thought we had to check in, but you don’t! Once you call ahead to confirm your reservation they give you the code for your door lock to enter once arriving! Very clean and nice place, with smart tvs, washer and dryer, nice showers and even have bath and body works for showering!  The location is 25-30 away from most things it’s very convenient. Only suggestion I have is if you aren’t fond of noise and footsteps late at night or early in the morning when trying to sleep I would ask to have a top floor condo if staying in one.  Definitely recommend!

Highly recommend!

The resort is very clean and well taken care of. The only complaint I have is the bathrooms should have hand rails to help the physically challenged. My mom needs to hold on to something to lift her leg or she loses her balance. Lucky my sister was there to help her.  But that's it. Everything else was wonderful. And if you are physically challenged the resort sits on the side of a mountain. It's all downhill to the pool.

Good time

Reservation said 170 White Oak Resort Way. We drove down the street and saw cabins 164, 166, 168, and finally the last cabin which was supposed to de 170. But there was no number on the cabin and no keypad on the door. I looked in and it was an office. So we drove over to the White Oak office next to the pool and it was closed. We called the number on our check in sheet and got a recording, and they would get back to us the next day. So we drove around and finally saw a building at the top of the hill. It looked like a travel lodge 2 story hotel. Luckily we found a cleaning lady who showed us the unit we were in. I tried the 4 digit code on my sheet of paper and it did not work. The cleaning lady told me they had given me the wrong code and gave me the correct code. If she had not still been there we would not have gotten in. We thought we would be in a cabin, not a hotel. The 2 bedroom however was nice  but our enthusiasm for our vacation was ruined by the panic  of the check in process. We ended up leaving after 3 days.

Nightmare check in

Cabins are very nice. Great setting away from the hustle & bustle of town.  Pool is very nice and not crowded. Beds are comfy. Like that all the cabins have a hot tub that is well maintained. 

Recommend bringing your own pots and pans and knifes. Very poor quality and everything sticks bad. 

Family Reunion at the Cabins

Absolute TRASH. Pool area is not locked so people off the streets are constantly coming in. Pool is not heated. Hot tub is only remotely warm (currently has ice cold water pumping through). Maintenance guy (Charlie) will not heat pool. He drives around in a wheelchair and yells at families. The cabins are decent, however, there is no privacy (open concept throughout all rooms). Basketball / tennis court is not clean. Trash everywhere. No other activities other than viewing the trash trailer and massive garage bins. Also, no open fires. Do not waste your money or time on this place! Take your family to another cabin resort, one that appreciates business and cares about repeat customers!!!

Horrible maintenance (Charlie)

The cabin was great! hated that we got woken up to banging on our door because they “paid $35,000 for concrete” but only have parking for one car for a 6 person cabin
cleaning was horrible, we had to rewash all the dishes and shown in the pictures you can see that they don’t sweep under furniture or dust. really didn’t like finding someone else’s panties…

Need better cleaners

We had a fantastic week at White Oak resort. Would definitely do it again. Such a relaxing, fun week!
My only suggestion would be to heat the larger pool. We enjoyed the smaller one though! Had an amazing time on walks, dinners and the pool.

Loved our time!

We booked this property online for the week of 07/03-07/10/2021.  It looked like it had beautiful mountain views, quiet, and everything we needed for our family of 5, 2 adults and 3 teens.  Little did we know we would be walking into a low lying resort with barely any view of the mountains, all views obscured by tightly packed cabins and the resort is under construction (construction noise is present but minimal).  Not only was our cabin "143 RESORT WAY" packed tightly in rows of other cabins our front porch view was the back porches of other cabins and our back porch view was, more cabins.  There was no one available for check in, the internet didn't work the entire week - so don't think you will be doing any work or watching movies while there...though they did provide an ipad with resources it never connected despite calling for troubleshooting on many occasions.  TVs in every room are great, but not if you cant watch them.  This place could be nice, but the cabin is filthy dirty.  The greenery in the kitchen has never been dusted, nor has the cabin, there is black mold EVERYWHERE - we had breathing issues the entire time.  Every toilet, sink, and shower are covered in mold.  We couldnt open windows because the screens were missing so we had to buy flonase to make it through the nights.  The toaster is broken on one side.  Faucet handles just spin around and water cannot be turned off.  Shower heads are dirty with build up, and just trickle.  The master bathroom had the sink stopper missing with a moldy toothpaste cap lodged in the drain.  The front porch is covered in bird droppings as are the rocking chairs not that we wanted to sit and watch others on their back porch anyway.  The washing machine is clogged with powdered soap.  The hot tub jets are either clogged or broken on one side, and the water cloudy and very high chlorine concentration.  Oh and buy some toilet paper, we ran out and none was re-supplied.  Towels are scant but can be washed if you want to do laundry on vacation.  Did I mention the upstairs beds are not on slats, so you are basically on a matress on the floor surrounded by large log bed-frames?  

Some perks were, a nice resort pool, clean bedding, good supply of kitchen wares, utensils, cookware, blender, coffee pots.  The kids room with foosball table and arcade worked, and a trunk full of board games was nice.  Be warned, the game room is above the master bedroom and this cabin is thunderous with footsteps, creaking noises, foosball and arcade.  

In a nutshell, don't waste your money on this overpriced, filthy, broken nightmare.  Maybe the other cabins here are better but this one is terrible.  Search for those cabins in the mountains with beautiful views bu word of mouth and don't rely on photoshopped images of mountain views.

DO NOT BOOK!  Black mold, no views, broken, loud, no internet, EXPENSIVE!

White Oak is a nice place to stay and to visit. Cabins are clean and spacious.
HOWEVER do not go to the presentation offered by Smoky Mountain Distributors. They offer free gift cards to sell a membership in a vacation club. The membership is not available on line and so can not be used. They make claims and promises that they do not keep. They do not answer emails or phone calls. RUN from them as fast as you can. Their only interest is your money!!
