I absolutely loved staying here...it was very quiet and relaxing. The room was very clean and the staff was so nice. You have a refrigerator,  stove , dishes toaster, microwave and sink..The motel had beautiful outdoor scenery, very close to beach, stores and square. I would highly recommend staying here!

A relaxing Stay

When you Google the location. It clearly says there are two pools on the Lagoon side. Which is not accurate information. There is no pool. For someone who did not know that and paid $300 a night. Waste of money waste of time don't book here!!!!!!!!

Disappointed

If you want luxury, this is not the place. It's a small old motel in the tourist area of the beach.
The rooms are small but clean with all that you need ( coffee, refrigerator, stove, ect) . Easy walk to the beach and dozens of bars and restaurants. Great spot for a homebase.
Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is it's right on the main drag and traffic can get a bit loud at times. Nice little spot behind it to sit by the water. Great place for couples, not so much for  familys.

Great little place

Stayed in their apparent, “premium sweet”. One of the nastiest hotels I have ever been in. Multiple code violations, black mold and hair in the shower, body hair in both beds, garbage under the beds and end tables, mold covering the toaster, black mold in the fridge, and cockroaches. Paid over $400 for two nights and  didn’t even stay the first night and they still charged us for the second night after they confirmed that they got our voicemails saying we will not be staying. Christine, the manager couldn’t even apologize. Dismissed all of our complaints and made it seem like we did something wrong, was very condescending, and when we confronted her she walked away from us. We weren’t able to contact anyone around midnight when we discovered the cockroaches and disgusting beds and shower, so we had to leave voicemails and find another hotel at 1am. The manager didn’t think the unsanitary and dangerous conditions were an issue and tried making excuses for everything wrong with the room.

What a cool place to stay.  Don’t know how long this little motel’s been around, but it’s definitely a blast from the past. Really has that Old Florida tourist vibe.  Little open courtyard type place, tucked back behind some businesses on the main drag. In the back, there’s a water inlet for boats with a little neighborhood surrounding it.  Super peaceful and quiet when we were there. About a block from the beach and a bunch of restaurants within short walking distance. This motel is so old school you actually get a real key on a plastic key fob!

I stayed here for one night in their most expensive upstairs suite and paid nearly $400 for this stay. Upon arrival, we were pleased with the room and view. However, bedtime was a totally different experience. We were woken up at 3:30am then again at 4:30am by the noise of a bunch of drunk cussing 20-somethings outside our window. The thin windows and the placement of the lounge chairs by the room below us made it seem as if the noise was right inside our room! We tried calling someone at the hotel office but there was no one to reach. Apparently once the hotel store closes at 11pm there is no one from the hotel staff to help with anything. I found this out the next morning when we expressed our dissatisfaction to the hotel front desk attendant. She seemed dismissive of our complaint so we asked to speak with the owner. We were told that the owner was out of town and would call is. A week later and still no call. What a disappointment this experience was. Definitely not worthy of nearly $400!!

Great place to stay if you like loud cussing drunks and no help from hotel staff!

We stayed here one night when we were hunting for a year lease at a condo which we found a good one. The office is located in a shop in the Times Square area of north Ft Myers Beach. The girl who helped us was very nice and we secured a room and I think we were their only customers that night. The room was smallish but well equipped with a kitchenette. It was great! The location was great, right in the heart of the restaurant/bar area-ideal for vacationers visiting the city. The beach is a block away. I highly recommend this place for the vacationer wanting to have fun!

Liked it!

We ended up here after a bad experience at another local motel, and we’re really glad we did.  All of the staff are ere very friendly, everything was clean, and it was in walking distance to anything we needed.  We will stay here again on our next trip to the area.

Very disappointed as we had to cancel due to the COVID 19 virus and I was told they are keeping $25 of my prepaid room fee for cancelling.
I managed hotels over 20 years and would have never stuck it to a potential return customer for $25.
Very rude clerk, Christine, actually told me if I could produce proof that I could not fly there, then they "might" consider giving me the $25 back.
I live in Florida and we were driving down for the weekend, not flying.
When I inquired how they were making sure that no hotel guests had the virus or what was the guarantee that we would not be exposed, she put me on hold for over 10 minutes.
I have since called 5 times,left 3 messages and sent an email to Debbie who booked my reservation and no return calls or emails.
Refunded minus the $25
We are listening to CDC guidelines and trying to stay safe, yet this motel wants to gouge customers for $25.
Very unprofessional and very sad.

Hadto cancel due to coronavirus

The Shipwreck hotel in Fort Myers Beach, Florida is a great little find! Inexpensive and clean in a great location. Surf and beach themed decor. Nothing fancy but had everything you need. Close to Time Square. The Trollee stops out front. Lagoon in the back.
