I've been tempted to write reviews before but never have as I just didn't want to bother. This time though, my experience was just so bad I can't stand the thought of this place getting away with it.

I knew there was a problem when the notice scotch-taped to the office counter said "No refunds after 10 minutes from check-in." The room was about what I'd expect in a third world country: ancient paint haphazardly and sloppily applied with hardened drips everywhere; ancient furniture; plastic flooring sheet that had become de-laminated and bubbly in the bathroom; 1/2" thick caulk lines on every joint in the bathroom; ancient faux paneling along one wall with dozens of scotch tape ghosts, probably of notices; cobwebs behind the door; several moth holes in the curtains. Deep stench of smoke despite being a "no smoking" room. The only "amenity" in the room was the ice bucket and plastic cups, nothing else. "Ok" I thought, "cheap room, I can deal with it for the price."

When it came time to go to bed I pulled the covers off the pillows and was disgusted to see several long, black hairs on the pillow. Given the state of the room, my mind instantly started wondering about what other disgustingness there was in the room and I just couldn't stay there. I was in the military for 20 years; lived in all manner of nastiness, but this was too much for me given that I was paying for it. I just went to the office and handed over the key and said "I can't stay here, it's too much." The proprietor didn't say a word and just tossed the key into a pile like I was just the latest of many. I didn't even bother fighting it; found the nearby EconoLodge had availability and I felt like I had a 5-star upgrade there compared to the nightmare I had just fled.

I'd say please don't book this place, but then for the sheer entertainment value I'd recommend you do book it, check-in and take as many photos as you can in 10 minutes then go request a refund. Bring your bio hazard suit though!

No idea how this place is even in business. Disgusting.

Basic lodging but clean and friendly staff.  

Nearby West Falls Church Metro had lots of parking (at this time of year at least) and 5 minute car drive away. If you don't want to drive to the Metro you can catch the bus right in front of the motel!

Grocery store across,the street and a Starbucks is in the adjacent strip shopping center steps away from our room.

Good bed and pillows.  We will stay here again.

The chinese owners want you to believe that as they visit and deny they are the owners  that thats O.K. and its not . This decrepit place is hard to get anymore than four hours of sleep in their cheap light in weight beds that move around and need to be adjusted to fit the bed which is not a queen but a twin frame underneath . The green thin blankets are at least 45 yrs old in my opinion and dont keep you warm even with two of them . Most everything is old and they order the lowest quality towels which are never going to be soft or enjoyable or big enough even when new. The staff leaves the door open when changing sheets and towels as a standard negligent practice so expect your belongings to be at risk to be stolen which happened to me ! But they will pay for what was stolen . The older lady women has taken things in the past and will try to take things if she knows you are leaving soon . The staff never says hello and snap at you if you complain . Pay ten dollars more and stay somewhere else ! The city engineers cited the stairs to the second level and the supports as a hazard that needs replacement ! There is internet which is off and on but only in the front part of the Motel ( there are old signs everywhere there so dont be fooled ) The inn part does not apply . They rent a space to a spanish restaurant but all they offer is coffee!

This place should be torn down and will be within the year .!

We were going to stay here for two nights, while doing somethings in DC. We called when we were an hour and a half away just to make sure everything was ok with our reservation, since it was late an we were getting in around midnight, well they had thrown our reservation away and given our room to someone else, they told us that they did have 3 smoking rooms left and we could pick from those 3, not ideal but at midnight with our 2 kids, we were just gonna have to make due. Our friends were also staying there too, and she called to tell us they had found a dead mouse in their bed, and they were leaving. They had to argue to get their money back from them. Thankfully the Hilton Garden just up the street had room for us, and for $10 more a night, we got a much nicer room and all the amenities. Stratford Motor Lodge will NEVER be an option  for us again

This place nearly ruined our trip!

so on march 19,2016 my boyfriend and I were stranded in falls church it was late @ 12am we called to talk to someone about the rates the lady told us 79 after tax.When we got there there was a guy and he gave us a hard time!! When we first arrived he already seemed like he didn't want us to check in there because he judged a book by its cover.Seen that it was 2 African Americans late at night and figured we did not have any money! After we proceed to give him our id and debit card to pay he said that we couldn't use it because it didn't have my boyfriends name on it, in fact in didn't have any name on it! It was a prepaid visa that my job assigned to me.He told us to go to the atm which was 10 minutes away it was raining and freezing!The atm was broken we had no idea where we were so we just went back to the hotel and told him what happened. At this point he seem flustered about us trying to get him to just use the card for payment so he looks at my boyfriends ID takes the debit card and asked us did we want a smoking room or non smoking room, we told him smoking room about 5 times he said he didn't hear us and rolled his eyes! He took the ID and debit card, came back showed us a receipt with such excitement that it said declined! Which was false! I tried to show him that my account had money in it and tried it again and these were his exact words "idk what to tell you miss". So at this point we are STILL stranded! But luckily about 5-7 min away there was another hotel that welcomed us with open arms and we checked in there!
