Solitude cabins is now owned by skyrun management. Skyrun requires a 90-day cancellation and provides your refund, less $75.00, via a billpay check, not back onto your credit card. Notwithstanding our written agreement was with solitude cabins and was a -14 day cancellation with our refund due in the same vein as the made reservation, the refund took 8 weeks. 

If you are an international traveller, this is undoable - how will you deposit your refund from a US .com bank . If you are domestic - this is pathetic attempt to keep your money. The 90-day cancel says it all. The broken agreement with the original rental contract is bad faith if not unlawful. 

With many discussions with Tresa and others eventually culminating in the owner (we had a friend step in; each time we requested a discussion with Greg we were told ‘no’) the one incredibly awful discussion was with Julia who stated she was from accounting: she told us we should be lucky to get our money back. Really awful - stay far away from this management group: they manage lots of Estes rentals , be cautious when booking. 

Abysmal service and management

We brought our 2 grown kids for a 5-day stay.  The cabin was spacious for the 4 of us and we loved having an actual usable kitchen and a living room area to relax in in the evenings. (one of the main reasons for booking as a "hotel" room does not very often allow for that)  The deck and grill were nice to have at our disposal as well.  We had an issue with the CO2 detector going off our first evening but that was only due to bad batteries.  Once batteries were replaced, no problem.  The cabin did not have air conditioning but management came through with window fans for us after reporting the fans in the unit were very noisy and not the greatest.  After the window fans showed up, and with the use of the whole house fan, the ceiling fans (plus the 2 small fans we had brought with us knowing there was not air conditioning), the cabin was pleasant.  Our last 2 days were a bit cooler outside as well which helped.  Were not able to use our hot tub reservations due to rain/lightning in the evenings when we had booked it.  Location is not far away from the hustle/bustle of the downtown area but far enough to feel the "Solitude".  Overall, a very pleasant stay and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Loved the space

We are a family of 5 staying near the Rocky Mountain NP for the first time in Estes Park. The Solitude Cabins were felt like a home away from home. Full kitchen, two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen fully furnished with dishes, utensils, cooking pans and utensils, crock pot, toaster, and much more. You just need to bring the food! There is a shared hot tub for all the cabins that you sign up for so you have your own private time to use. Easy parking. On-site staff was friendly and helpful. The property has maybe 20 cabins in total, somewhat close to one-another but yet spaced out enough for privacy. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends.

Home away from Home

Pros:  Nice cabin, beautiful windows, comfy furniture and beds, working kitchen, nice deck for relaxing, friendly staff, and good location.

Cons:  Cars park by the bedroom window, weed eater started at 8:00 AM and went for hours on a Saturday morning, trash pickup at 6:00 AM, and no AC.

Nice cains but not quiet

Nice place, quiet, well located. The cabins are very well fitted, comfortable and spacious. With a fireplace, barbecue, complete laundry. Two spacious suites and a huge room combined with the kitchen, well fitted.

Pleasant location

We were unable to stay due to the property canceled due to the fires.  We were not called and were not offended a refund.we live in North Carolina so a credit was not acceptable.  Other properties in the Estes park area gave our family members a full refund.  Very disappointed 😞

Disappointed wedding party

I will start with the pros:  the cabin was thoroughly clean when we arrived, which was a plus. The layout was perfect for a family of four, with one king bed upstairs and one downstairs, two bathrooms, and plenty of space. The furnishings were modern and completely functional, and there were board games in the living room which was a nice extra.  The kitchen was fully operational and you could seriously cook for your entire stay if you needed, which considering the hit or miss quality of food in Estes, you might want to consider. The location was great in terms of being close enough to grocery stores and restaurants while only needing 10 mins or so to drive to RMNP, and the cabins were directly across from the lake, which was nice. The property had every amenity that we needed, including bathroom/kitchen supplies and toiletries, and there were extra towels in the linen closet. We did not use the washer and dryer, so no comments there, but I am sure they would have worked in a pinch. Beds were comfortable and I did not notice any sort of plastic on the mattress as mentioned by a previous reviewer, not sure what that was about. We had two decks, one larger off of the kitchen and a smaller off the upstairs bedroom. TVs located in every bedroom and in the living room with cable, also wifi. I did have two preteen boys who complained that the wifi was not very good, but they were trying to use multiple gaming devices simultaneously at night, so I wouldn't necessarily say the wifi was weak, just normal perhaps. As for the cons, there was no A/C, and given that it was a crazy hot weekend in Estes, the cabin did become stuffy from 4 to 8 pm each day. Not terrible, but we did notice. We used the attic fan once the sun went down, and it's doable, but if you are extremely sensitive to heat, this might not work for you. The other issue we had was our cabin's specific location in the complex. We were concerned that we would be facing the road and the high school parking lot, and that was (kind of) the case. We did have a view of the mountains, but the high school and buses are a part of that view, so it's not perfect (perhaps nothing is, really). We did not see any wildlife nearby, which was disappointing for our kiddos. I think it was also an extremely busy weekend in town which made the animals shy away, but I feel like being so close to the road made it less likely that we would get the random elk or deer visit as others have mentioned. Lastly, and this is a minor quibble, the owners may want to consider replacing the dishwasher, as it seems to be at the end of its life cycle, and we would have preferred a fridge that dispensed filtered water (though it did have an ice maker). All of the applicances worked though, which is more than I can say for a lot of other rentals out there!  Overall, we were really pleased with the cabin and would recommend, especially for those who need more space than a traditional hotel room would provide.

Good place to stay!

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend away from S Colorado and we would return here for every vacation! The cabin was so clean and well-stocked. Seeing a mule deer off the deck the first day really put into perspective how quiet and serene the entire property is. The staff was so friendly and more than accommodating, allowing us to check in several hours early which was a pleasant surprise. The location was ideal, not more than ten minutes to get anywhere in Estes Park, but far enough away from the busy downtown. Highly recommend!

Peaceful and Perfectly Located!

We spent 3 nites at Solitude Cabins over the Christmas Holiday.  We loved everything about it - it is very conveniently located, very quite, beautiful view from our window of Longs Peak.  This is one of the few places that looked exactly like the pics we saw when booking!  Honestly, can't say anything but positives about it - hoping to get back to Estes Park and this will be the only place we look to stay!

Amazing stay

We rented a cabin for 5 nights and had an amazing stay. It is so peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was spacious and having 2 king size bedrooms are a rare find. I also appreciate having a pet free option-due to allergies. Management were so friendly and helpful with Estes Park area. You will not be disappointed. We will be back!
