It is a little far away from downtown Dallas but the place is clean, with great rooms and they help you any indication you need or other thing you need.
Also, you have a bus stop just in the sidewalk, and you can be in downtown very fast.
I would go back there!

Good place!

I stayed here for 5 days and was very pleasantly surprised with the place. First of all, the pictures being shown are outdated, as they recently redid all the rooms with very nice (Marriott level) bathroom fixtures and flooring. Also, the place is very conveniently located to downtown Dallas, with only a <10 min ride in, so you get the location without the price. Only thing that would have made it better is breakfast!

Great spot, clean, inexpensive

The Galaxy Inn may look a little rough on the outside but the room I got was clean and I had no problems during my stay. 
The TV in the room offered lots of channels, I had access to a fridge and microwave which was fantastic, the air conditioning worked and even the complimentary wi-fi was very reliable. 
I never had an issue with noisy neighbours and the bus stop to go downtown is literally steps away. There is a grocery store about ten minutes down the road as well in case you want to buy some snacks for the room. 
The staff was very nice and made checking in and checking out a smooth process. 

If you're looking somewhere inexpensive to stay and just need the basics this is a great option! 

The toilet backed up and management told me all customers have to use the plunger. Management REFUSED to fix toilet and REFUSED to move me to another room. 
I booked a 2 night stay and she gave me a room on the 2nd floor. I asked if there was ground floor room and she said there would be tomorrow. I am cool with that. 
So she tells me that the light on the door lock won’t come on and that I have to pushed down real hard and push the door in. It took me a couple of minutes, but I got the door open
I go to take a shower and there are only hand towels and wash clothes. I go downstairs to get bath towels and she says I have to bring other towels before she can give me the oldest looking towels I have ever seen. Back up and down the stairs. 
So then I go to use the toilet and one of the hinges was broken. Darn near slid into the bathtub. Went to flush but it backed up. I was so tired…decided to deal with it the next day. 
I go downstairs the next day at 4pm (checkin time) move all my things into my car and go into office to “check in” to a ground floor room. The witch tells me that there are no rooms and that I needed to do this at check out time at 11am. Why didn’t she tell me that when I asked her the night before? There are only 5 cars in parking lot…how can all ground floor rooms be booked? Sigh. So then I tell her about toilet and she says I should have said something when manager was there at 11am. He is gone (it’s only 4pm). So I ask her who is going to fix /clean toilet? She says all customers use the plungers themselves. Apparently, toilets back up a lot at this hotel!  tell her to refund my night’s stay and that I will go somewhere else. She says she can’t because it’s 4pm! And that if I wanted refund I had to checkout at 11am. MIND YOU…there was NO MAID SERVICE performed on this room…so it’s not like they paid the maid to clean. 
I called corporate(g9 hospitality ) to report this location and they listened to what I said and gave me a reference number. A REFERENCE NUMBER. Thank you very much. So there is zero accountability from this company. This location, as all Motel6 locations, are run by Indian nationalists. Their idea of customer service is “pay us and don’t expect us to be accountable”.  It is a very sad day in America. 
The woman at the front desk is a liar she knew this room had problems and still checked me into this room (206). 
I do not recommend this location or any other motel6. You certainly don’t get what pay for.

You don’t get what you pay for…you get less

At first it seemed ok for the money although we had a slightly miserable welcome. Heard horrible noises through the wall at gone midnight. On our day of checking out the manager knocked our door at 9.45am and asked "you stay or go?". Checkout time is 11am and we wanted to rest until closer to that time as we had our bags packed. He then did the same at 10.30 and 10.45. Reading reviews this is always done at this hotel although I have never experienced something so rude at a hotel before. Given that other people have made this complaint you would think they would stop this practice. Clearly run by complete morons.

Don't stay here

I spent only one night in Dallas and we thought this motel was a good option for a few hours. When we arrived at the "reception" the guy was very rude. Never seen something like this. He asked me for my ID as if I was a criminal.

I gave him my credit card to pay for the room, but it would not go though. I gave him another card to pay for the room and it didn´t work either. In the end, he said: “You have no money”, which was not true, of course, because I had been using  those cards for all payments all day. In the end, after a very frustrating confrontation with this man, we decided to go to another hotel, and of course my credit card did work in that other hotel! 
I called the agency to be sure that I wouldn’t be charged for the reservation, and I was told that if I had used the same card for the reservation as well as for the room; Then, he would not be able to charge me for the cancellation. Later, I could see a charge for the cancellation on the credit card that I had used to pay for the room. 

Then, I called the agency again and they contacted the hotel and his explanation was that “I was there, the credit card didn’t work, but he still wants to get money for the reservation”. How come this credit card did accept payment for the cancellation fee, and not for paying the room. It seems he was unwilling to help me resolve the situation when I was there ready to pay for the room, and worked hard to make sure that he would get his cancellation fee money using my very same card information. The man running this hotel is dishonest.
