This was by pure chance we seen a picture of the hotel on trip advisor. We needed a hotel for an extra night.  We called the hotel direct.  Booked the night before. Sent messages for what we needed. Phone the following day and sorted all out issues we had. Need to park early that I am celiac. All resolved. 
Also we got Tobin  in early as they had cleaned our room ready.   
It’s located so close to town and with in walking distance of local owned shops and restaurants.

Two birthdays combined.

We spent a couple of nights at the Staymor. It’s a lovely family run hotel. The staff were great, room was clean and breakfast very good. Breakfast is served to the room which is fine, but did mean we couldn’t have a lay in! The city centre is within easy walking distance. We would definitely go back.

Lovely hotel

Stayed here for 1 night to celebrate our wedding anniversary,  lovely friendly staff, stayed in the Railway Room, really quirky and unusual. Spotlessly clean,as was the bathroom.  Comfy bed,  fabulous breakfast.  Would highly recommend 👌 

Anniversary in York

Just got home from staying at the Staymor. The hotel is very quirky and completely spotless throughout. Breakfast was delicious and was delivered to your door at exactly the right time. Staff were welcoming and polite and it is about a 15 minute walk from the center. I honestly couldn't fault this place and would stay there again

Amazing Hotel

Stayed for 1 night  in October, last minute booking. Booked direct through their website to get free parking permit.
Arrived around 2pm and having already had a call to confirm self book in details everything went smoothly. Room was lovely, bed comfortable, location excellent, breakfast 1st class. Couple of small items noted that we’ve emailed Staymor direct to let them know of but nothing that would put us off booking here again.

Would highly recommend

Amazing guest house located just outside of the city centre. 
From booking to checking out the experience was amazing and seamless with great communication. 

We were given room 7 which is a Terrys chocolate orange themed room (perfect touch of a chocolate orange every day!) which has stunning views over York which was lovely to look out at while we ate breakfast.

Breakfast is delivered to the room every morning with a great selection of fresh food and drink, which they catered to dietary needs perfectly. 

Room and main hallway is beautifully decorated and welcoming, easy to access when hosts aren’t there, and very little noise from other rooms. 

Hosts are super friendly, providing a great selection of information on local surroundings and shops, and even have a communal fridge if needed. 

Definitely recommend for a long or short stay and we’ll definitely visit again.

Perfect Guest House

We loved this quirky little place. We stayed in room 7, top floor with a stunning view of the city and chocolate factory. The room was very clean,quiet and warm (they provide a fan if needed).Self check in was great, no awkward small talk after a long day of travel but if we needed anything they have their number on the kitchen door. There was a parking permit supplied so we could park  close to the guesthouse. We really enjoyed breakfast, being brought to your room at 8am every morning, means there's no rushing to be downstairs and we could sit at our own wee table and enjoy the view. The bircher is amazing ( best part of the breakfast in my opinion)They have a tea tray fill of everything you need also in the room.

Definitely a great place to stay to do your own thing in York! We will be staying again if we return 

Staycation in York 

This was a lovely Hotel-a smaller guest house type feel but with a personal attention to detail. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the room was lovely. Lots of quirks which added to its charm and a real reflection of Yorks history and vitality too. The Breakfast was excellent. Thanks for a lovely stay.

A quality and quirky establishment

Hi, we stayed in Room 6, was very clean and comfortable. Very good attention to detail ( YoYo) Jackie was very helpful and friendly,  ( an excellent people's  person) nothing was too much troubled. An excellent asset to have in these times, thank you for our stay.  The breakfast selection was also a very individual  experience , with again a good eye on presentation Cheers Mick & Ann (Leicester).

Lovely Short Break

My partner and I stayed for one night.  We booked direct and this included breakfast and free parking outside the guest house.  We turned up 2 hours earlier than we'd stated however our room was ready and we were kindly given a parking pass enabling us to drop off our things and get into town to see the sights.  

The room was nice, cosy and quirky, very clean, lovely bathroom.  Tea and coffee facilities in the room with TV.  Toiletries provided in the bathroom.  The bed was comfortable, we had a good nights sleep, nice and quiet, was a little hot but were able to open the window.  Breakfast was lovely, delivered to your room, fresh orange, tea, coffee, yoghurt and oats, hot bacon roll, coissants and jam, more than enough to set you up for the morning.  

The location is great, it's on a quiet residential street only a ten minute walk to the town and through Bishy (nice road with some shops and cafes, restaurants and a pub etc), nice if you don't fancy walking into town.  

Check out was easy, just paid and left, returned the parking permit which let us park free of charge (apparently you only get free parking when you book direct with guest house so that's recommended).  

I would definitely recommend this lovely, local guest house.  I will stay here again when I return to York :-)
