We stayed at Catwell House just before the previous lock down & again during the Tier lock down having been put at ease by the Covid precautions in place.
What a delight to meet Ross & Becca, their russell's Humphrey & Lottie & Guinness the 'Boss Cat'! What a lovely relaxing atmosphere, a true Home from Home not only for us but also our two dogs who were also made most welcome by Humphrey, Lottie & Guinness! 
A very big thank you to Ross & Becca for welcoming us into their lovely home, a more genuine & nicer couple we have not met! We enjoyed lovely company &  fantastic food & look forward to our next visit in January.
If you are not an animal lover Catwell House will probably not be for you but if you 'go with the flow' you will certainly relax in a lovely environment with very genuine hosts.

Very, very relaxing...even our dogs said so!

What a gem of a B and B.  Nothing is too much trouble for Becca and Ross,  In these strange and difficult times they paid attention to all the extra detail of sanitisers etc.
The choice of food was excellent and after having such a good choice and a very tasty breakfast we hardly needed anything for lunch.  Becca also provided us with a dinner menu each day so should we choose not to go out for a meal we could eat at the B and B.  At the weekend we chose to have a cold platter to share, which was much appreciated.
Our room overlooked the Countryside where we could walk our dog each morning prior to going out for the rest of the day, usually to somewhere recommended by Becca and Ross.  The dog was able to make friends with the resident dogs of Catwell House.  As a result a good time was had by all.   Thank you we will certainly visit again.

Restful Retreat

We were looking for somewhere safe & relaxed to stay given Covid. Their website was one of the only we looked at that addressed Covid. On arrival, their Covid measures were explained clearly and we felt immediately reassured. Excellent and idyllic location at the end of a lane - quiet and with views of the Quantocks; but with the amenities of Williton within close walking distance. Ross & Becca were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We loved the two friendly Jack Russells, Humphrey and Lottie 🐾! We stayed in the Glebe suite in the main house, which was comfortable and had everything we needed. Given the pandemic, they had started providing evening meals, which we would strongly recommend as very good. Breakfast also excellent. Otherwise, they provided helpful advice re pubs/restaurants. Williton is an excellent base for exploring Quantocks/Exmoor. 
Overall we had a most enjoyable stay, we were made to feel very welcome and were impressed with all of their Covid secure measures. Would highly recommend.

Short Break

Our stay with Ross and Becca could not have been better. Fantastic hosts who really cared about our stay without ever getting in the way, perfect cooked breakfasts and lovely dinners. Beautiful views over the quantocks from the window too. Simply perfect.

A lovely 4 nights stay in Somerset

The first escape from the virus, and we were a little apprehensive.  The welcome from Ross and Becca put us at ease straight away. they explained the routine well and gave a printed sheet in case we forgot anything! No cleaners during the stay, but everything cleaned and sanitised before our arrival. 
They had changed the rooms booking, so that all four of us could be together in the barn conversion. a thoughtful and welcome alteration. it meant that we were self contained, and could come and go without disturbing anyone. 
The little dogs were welcomed  and we felt really comfortable to be guests. The location at the end of a lane allowed us access to public footpaths to walk the dogs and was very quiet and safe.
We even managed a game of Snooker, although we were pathetic at playing, which wiled away a rainy afternoon.
Becca went out of her way to cater for our vegetarian daughters  and was interested to find out best brand tastes for sausages. They also found out menus for other establishments which were open, to save us wasted journeys.
The breakfasts were magnificent! A choice which rivalled the Lake District for quality and variety. Room coffee and tea was great, real milk in a fridge in our sitting room, (rather than the UHT cartons which I find nasty).
 The hosts were relaxed and helpful at every point of contact, with a lovely manner. Three great nights which certainly recharged our batteries.
We would recommend Catwell House to anyone.

A Great Break!

Our first proper staycation and we loved every single moment! We booked last minute with our little Labrador Darcie. Ross and Becca made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived... including our crazy pup who was very excited to meet their two beautiful Jack Russell’s. There is a lovely, relaxed and friendly atmosphere at Catwell House and this really comes from Ross and Becca and rubs off on everyone staying there too. We didn’t actually book breakfast with our booking but chose to have it nearly every morning and we definitely didn’t regret it - it is delicious! And we chose to have dinner one night too - a gorgeous lamb tagine! It is set in the most beautiful place with fields and hills all around but also just a short walk to local pubs and shops. Thank you Ross and Becca for a truly amazing holiday and we will definitely be back!

The perfect staycation!

A return visit after a few years, this time in the middle of covid 19. Our room had been sanitised before we arrived and was immaculately clean so no worries! Our suite was on the ground floor of the barn complete with baby grand piano and very comfy beds. A haven of tranquility. Ross and Becca as always so helpful and welcoming. Breakfast and 3  course suppers so delicious and socially distanced. Lovely! 

So relaxing

This was a last minute booking and so very glad we made it.

Ross and Becca are great hosts and from the get go went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We had the Monksilver suite which is situated in a converted barn next to the main house - lovely flagged floor with underfloor heating if required, huge bed, fridge and a grand piano. Tea and coffee (with fresh milk) in your room; big fluffy towels; toiletries; loads of books in your own mini-library; outside seating through your own French doors. Smashing.

Ross and Becca have done everything they can to be Covid compliant without being intrusive; we were made to feel comfortable and welcome - everything felt completely natural and normal. 

Breakfasts are lovely - freshly prepared to your exact requirements, plenty of tea/coffee/juice and as much toast as you fancy as well as  plenty of alternatives for a cooked breakfast and a great choice of cereal, yoghurt etc, really sets you up for the day.

They are currently offering a three course evening meal which is delicious and great value. Seriously I can't fault the place.

We will be coming here again.


What a gem of a find!

We returned to Catwell yet again, but this time there was the worry of covid. However we need not have worried. As usual we were met by Ross and Becca who had worked so hard to make us feel safe. 
The room was up to its usual 5 star standard with everything we needed to make our holiday complete.Just the best breakfasts to start your day and we had the added bonus this time of superbly prepared suppers. 
A special place to just relax and enjoy your stay. Thank you Ross and Becca we will certainly be returning to see you both again soon.
