Had a pint of beer that was undrinkable returned it but had to pay full price for a replacement but they continued to sell it. 2 of the pump clips are just used to advertise cider. Decided to drink cans after that

Very poor

The hotel is very well positioned in the market square and is a lovely and imposing building but is very short on parking. As we were there on a Friday night you can’t park in the square as there’s a market on a Saturday. The next day market actually consisted of one stall. 
There’s nobody to check you in at reception, you have to queue at the bar with everyone ordering their afternoon pints of lager. To be fair when I was next to be ‘served’ a very nice member of staff noticed me and took me to reception to check in.
The hotel is like a maze with very wonky floors - which could be seen as being characterful if the building was better presented - but just felt like it needed sorting. 
The room was huge with a king sized bed and a separate massive bathroom. Everywhere was clean and uncluttered, the bathroom was also clean and tidily presented but in all had a fairly depressing feel, it all just felt run down. The shower was leaking onto the bathroom floor, the mirror had a light that didn’t work, the windowsills outside were filthy, one of the bedside lights had a broken lampshade….. it’s a real shame, it’s a lovely historic building. If they spent a little money on the rooms this could very well be a lovely place to stay. Just now it’s not.

Bit dated and wasn't clear how to access reception, but the man behind the bar sorted it out. In room 10 at the front of the hotel, really quiet near the market Square, and all of its amenities.  Pillows and bed bit too hard for our liking but would stay there again.

Old fashioned Hotel with friendly staff

Had a night out in Thirsk with 3 mates and stayed at the Three Tuns-very clean well serviced rooms-friendly staff in the bar and eating areas. Local for other drinking establishments in the centre of the Town-certainly worth a second visit-managed a parking space at the rear of the hotel which was an added bonus.

Worth a second visit

We stayed at the Three Tuns not long after it became a Wetherspoons hotel when the rooms were fresh, clean and stylish. This time, our room looked as if it had not been decorated or refreshed since then. It was tired, needed a deep clean, a new bed, better pillows and a larger thicker duvet. There was noise late at night and early in the morning from people in the two adjoining rooms as the sound proofing is not good.  On the plus side, the water was plentiful and hot. 

Tired and in need of urgent refreshment

Usual spoons but very well presented with different areas for you to eat or drink. Lovely outside area and all very clean (around the back). Lovely area at the front to sit in front of the fire.  Food OK.  Staff friendly. Will definitely revisit when in the area again. 

Very good

Just back from an overnight stay, our room (2) was superb. Very comfortable bed and pi;;ows. Room was huge and overlooked the Market Place, very quiet (maybe the time of year). The bathroom was also huge with a corner bath and seperate shower together with huge fluffy towels and toilettries included. Tea and coffee was plentiful. We were not expecting the hot chocolate, biscuits and bottled water for the price we paid so that was an additional treat.
We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occassions now but not in this room. All room are good but this one was exceptional.
Staff here are brilliant and obviously you have the bar for meals and drinks which as everyone knows represent excellent value.
Thirsk itself and the surrounding area is a lovely part of the world to visit.
Would I stay here again - absolutely no hesitation.
Would I recommend - what do you think? Off course I would.

Great stay in a lovely part of the world

Booked in Since March 2022. To Visit family over Christmas and very central. Turned up at 2pm Christmas eve to be told the hotel is closed and it was a booking .com issue and i need to go back to them. The hotel was booked Via Wetherspoons own website so it was there issue. 

I was told the hotel wont be open but I can stay on the Monday 26th when they are. I was offered a round of drinks as a sorry but no help given or offered. 

I had to find my own hotel on Christmas eve from 2pm with no way home. Luckily i managed to get into Premier in resulting in me over paying and forking out £15 a trip to and back from town with a taxi for the next 3 days. 

If you want a stress free stay and a guarantee you'll have a room to stay in when you arrive, I'd  stay else where.

Turned up and told hotel closed find your own replacement. 

Old but has a charm about it. The staff were pleasant and quite busy.
The food was ok, Hot, and plentiful. 
The offer on the drinks made this a very cheap lunch for the four of us.
We did not stay in this pub so do not know about the bedrooms.
