The pier B&B was excellent and friendly staff and very nice rooms and breakfast are delicious and I definitely come here again. The shower 🚿 is very nice and the beds are comfortable and I love it all

So lucky  to find this gem of a place, Rahul and his mum were perfect hosts, the breakfasts were great and the accommodation clean and comfortable. As we were in Portsmouth for the Victorious Festival the location was perfect and if we go again next year we’ll definitely be coming back here. We had room #3, first floor at the front; large box window, very light and airy and even though we were facing the street (and bear in mind it was Festival time) the noise late on was minimal and not at all a problem. If you want a place 5 minutes walk from the Hover with Gunwharf and Old Portsmouth on your doorstep look no further.

Excellent accommodation,location and a great guesthouse all-round.
Great breakfast and oweners are friendly and not intrusive at all.
Room clean with comfy beds and pillows.

A really lovely B&B in an excellent location within Southsea. Free parking was a particular advantage in such a popular area. Several good restaurants and pubs within easy reach of the property. The hosts were friendly and attentive but not intrusive and provided a substantial breakfast to start the day. We were were particularly grateful to them for providing an early breakfast on our departure day. Fully recommended without reservation.

The location of this hotel is superb for anyone visiting a family member studying at Portsmouth University. It took grandson and myself 5 to 10 minutes to walk to the University on their Open Day. I think this would also include walking to most of their student accommodation buildings. Free Car Parking is available at this hotel with the use of a Parking Permit provided by Rahul. The Hotel is clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a great nights sleep and the assistance provided by Rahul. We love this city and hope to return on some future date. This could include visiting our grandson while studying Mechanical Engineering at Portsmouth University.

Cannot recommend this small friendly hotel more highly. Location is great to explore Portsmouth and owner provides free parking right outside the property.  It was obvious from the moment we arrived that great hospitality was top of the list as far as the owners were concerned. Rooms were well equipped and spotlessly clean and nothing was too much trouble.  The owner could not have done more to make sure that guests were comfortable and welcomed:  breakfast was great too !

To stay at The Pier is a warm and welcoming experience. Hosts, Rahul and his mum are fascinating to talk to, they are both super friendly and welcoming and keep the property absolutely spotless. Breakfast was consistently delicious, featuring top quality bacon and sausages. The bed was comfortable and the facilities just right. Not only that you can walk to the Gunwarf Quays and there is a bus stop outside that goes to other parts of the city. You can even catch the hovercraft to the Isle of Wight at the end of the road. I had a memorable and happy stay at The Pier, met some wonderful people, and, as a lone traveller, had some the best breakfast conversations I have had in a while! From now on whenever I go to Portsmouth The Pier will be my go-to choice of overnight accommodation.

My partner and I stayed here last Saturday (9th October) as we were going to see  "nick cave and Warren Ellis" at the  Kings Theatre with friends
On arrival we couldn't have been made more welcomed by our hosts  with refreshments and a choice of what we would like for breakfast (as we are vegetarians) which didn't pose a problem at all 
Our room was very clean with fresh decor plus comfortable beds and ensuite shower etc.
Again at  breakfast very relaxed and friendly service and thoroughly enjoyed our
Smoked salmon
Scrambled eggs
Mushrooms
Toast
Plus met some lovely people who were also staying there...
    A Big thank you.. And couldn't have asked for more x

Fantastic Find of a Small Hotel

Just Right

Lovely welcoming, friendly hosts! We stayed for my partners birthday! 
Great communication and accommodated our needs for our stay and lots of information on local eateries. 
Extremely comfortable night's sleep, I even woke without my usual back complaints, so the mattress is 5stars!
Rahul and his mum made us a wonderful breakfast, tasty produce from local butchers and homemade yogurt was divine! 
The room was extremely clean, had everything we needed and was lovely to stay somewhere with such character. 
Will definitely recommend and we will be back to stay again.

Wonderful Stay - Comfortable Bed - Delicious Breakfast

Well what can I say, from the moment we stepped through the door, Rahul and his mom couldn't do enough for us, they are just lovely genuine people, it's such a lovely comfortable place to stay, the presentation at breakfast was lovely, lovely touches, the breakfast itself was amazing, and the toast was yummy, my daughter and myself had the most relaxing time, convenient to shops, bars, beach, museum etc.
We will definitely come back, thank you

Home from Home

What can I say! The wife and I stayed at the Pier for 2 nights for a family christening.  Rahul met us at the front door helping us from the car with our luggage and taking it to our room, making us a hot drink and making us very welcome, he also gave us a parking permit.
I had the cooked breakfast,  as a big eater I was more than satisfied,  my wife had smoked salmon,  poached egg on a bagel which she thoroughly enjoyed. We both also had a delicious home made yogurt, tea and fresh coffee.
We mentioned to Rahul that we were looking for a nice restaurant as we were going out for an evening meal,  he recommended a Thai just around the corner and also booked a table for us, going the extra mile.
We were looked after from the start to finish of our stay and thoroughly recommend the Pier, we will definitely be staying here again 10/10.

Family visit

Rahul really goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Nothing is too much trouble and you feel like both him and his mum (who does an amazing breakfast) genuinely care.
The Pier is well located within easy walking access to all the key areas of Portsmouth.  The parking permit was useful and we managed to park right outside.
Our room was clean, well presented and refreshments and toiletries were provided.
I would definitely recommend the Pier; why would you go to one of the many faceless chain hotels when you can be treated like a king at the Pier!
