Stayed 2 nights for a short break on my own. 
The welcome was very friendly and as my room was ready early I was allowed to check in before the appointed time. The room was clean and bright and comfortable.
I ate there both evenings and the food was very high quality. The mainly young staff in the bar/restaurant were all very good - attentive, helpful and friendly. 
Breakfast was very high quality (I liked the way you selected the evening before what you’d like and your chosen time for breakfast so it was ready quickly and all freshly prepared.
I’ll definitely return for a future visit

Lovely short break

Lovely lunch beautiful atmosphere, staff friendly and helpful, lovely views, will definitely go again on our next visit. We walked up on the off chance from the Eskdal railway, it was such a lovely day. 

Lovely place 

We camped nearby and came in for a late lunch.
Friendly and accomodating service and great food. I recommend the wild mushroom focaccia and the chocolate truffle cake - divine.
Impressed. Whisky tasting also worth a try.

Great food and service.

The room was well appointed and very clean. Sarah and her front of house team were very welcoming. Chef Gareth prepared some excellent specials. This was my second visit within two months and highly recommended.

Prefect place to stay

A group of 7 of us had lunch here on a Saturday.
The food was great and the staff were brilliant, I sometimes wonder why people are in customer service jobs but Bev who served us is totally in the right job she was wonderful and very friendly would definitely go back :)

Brilliant!

Such nice a nice village pub unfortunately only time for a beer as we had to catch the train but would of love to try the food everyone was so friendly and welcoming even dog friendly witch is always a bonus just what you need after a wark nice beer infornt of hot fire lovely

Me and my partner visited here last week. The food was amazing! The staff were lovely and the place was dog friendly. We loved the food so much that we ate here twice on our visit to Eskdale . We would definitely recommend it to others if visiting the area

Excellent food

I stopped here for lunch as part of a Mountain Goat tour on Saturday. The staff were very friendly and efficient, getting the food out quickly - especially given the amount of people who suddenly descended on the place at once. The food was delicious, and I only wish we'd been able to stay longer. Highly recommended.

Lovely Food, Great Service

We stayed at the Brook House inn for a short weekend break recently and it was brilliant! The accommodation, the staff, the location, the food, the drinks.. absolutely bang on. If you're a whisky lover then the Brook House Inn will feel like you're in heaven. It's an ideal location for walking and for La'l Ratty through to Ravenglass. We ate there both nights and the food was lovely... The staff are so friendly and helpful as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay 😁

Simply perfect!

Outstanding food starters, mains and dessert’s, fabulous choice on the main menu as well as the specials board.

Fantastic staff, warm welcoming and attentive service.

Would recommend for all ages, families and is also dog friendly. 

Great selection of local beers and ales.
