Only 1 night into my stay straight away was made to feel very welcome January Vist was very cold outside but the room was very warm and the facility's were immaculate clean and comfortable the host's we're very attentive and would highly recommend anyone visiting Scarborough to come and stay here well stocked bar (bonus) within walking distance for all amenities and a stone throw from the open air theater a hidden gem in Scarborough which also do a breakfast include in the price do not think twice to book they are a credit to the Scarborough hospitality service they provide 

Recommendation for bed and breakfast Scarborough 

Lovely b&m, nice light room with a good selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate., plus a nice selection of biscuits.
Toiletries provided as was a hairdryer.
Breakfast was excellent, juices, cereals, plus a large cooked breakfast followed by toast, assorted jams, honey, marmalade and marmite.
A well stocked bar run by the hosts John and Julie, the prices are good, lively conversation from John.
Free parking, nothing was too much trouble, well worth a visit.

First Class experience - The owners John and Julie are the most wonderful host and hostess …. what a wonderful introduction to such a special stay for one night !!!! Breakfast was absolutely perfect ….. enjoyed meeting the other guests at the Bar - a very entertaining night !!!!! Can’t wait to return again ….  Soon !!!

Back from another amazing stay 4 night stay at the Almar.
The room was so lovely, comfy bed and everything you could need is there. Well stocked hospitality tray which is re stocked daily.
Fantastic breakfast with John more than happy to cook any combination of what you want. 
Very enjoyable evenings spent in the well stocked and very reasonably priced bar with the other guests who we have met over.the years we have been going.
Booked again for next year whilst we were there, 5 nights next year as there is so much to do in Scarborough and the surrounding area.
Cannot recommend the Almar highly enough,

Fantastic place to stay

Nothing but good things to say. The hosts are warm, welcoming and attentive. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Went with my 4 yr old daughter who was treat fantastically. I booked a small double which was perfect. Amenities were well kept, comfy beds, plenty of storage for the buckets and spades. Lovely breakfast. Just a lovely place. Highly recommended. Will definitely book again if we head back to Scarborough. Talking to the other guests, most of whom are repeat customers which says it all. If you are in Scarborough, book here. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Great prices too.

Perfect for what we needed.

We really love visiting Scarborough and the East Yorkshire Coast and since we discovered The Almar we never stay anywhere else. John and Julie are the perfect hosts and make everyone feel welcome. The rooms are spotless and comfortable and the fantastic breakfasts keep you going all day. Julie and John keep a well stocked bar with something for everyone. We can’t wait to visit again later in the year.

A great weekend at the Almar

Can only reiterate the reviews so far.  All good.  Cycling holiday twixt Christmas and New Year, weather terrible but still enjoyed the trip.

Julie and John do go the "extra mile".  Recommendation for the Turkish restaurant just up the way and the North Bay Fisheries just down the way.   Took up both recommendations and not disappointed.

Nice touch, take away can be brought in and hosts will set table for evening meal.  Also provide tea, bread and butter to go with the lovely fish and chips.  

Whilst there, other guests were lovely and added to the enjoyment of the stay.

Bar prices are reasonable and John loves to make up cocktails.

If Scarborough is on our list of trips away, would deffo stay at The Almar again.

Wet and windy Scarborough, warm and friendly accommodation!

Lovely warm & friendly hotel, excellent location, greeted by John who showed us round, immaculately clean, lovely spacious room with great welcome tray offering plenty choice of drinks & biscuits, the breakfast was amazing with quality ingredients & made to order,  would highly recommend 5*

Single room was very good size with ensuite shower. Bed was comfortable and room was heated.
Decent safe off street parking
Highly recommend this guest house if you get a chance to book it. Grab it fast.

Fantastic value and welcoming 

Absolutely first-rate, from the wonderfully friendly couple who run The Almar to the enormous breakfast, well-stocked bar and comfortable room. Will most definitely be returning, and fully recommend it as a clean, comfortable and welcoming place to enjoy the area.
