As a last minute booking this was handled excellently. 
Margaret was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
The room was very clean and comfy and like being transported back in time. 
I spent 5 nights in the Lotus Room and I slept like a baby every night. 
I cannot recommend this lovely little B&B enough.

A Portland hidden gem.

We recently stayed at the Queen Anne House and couldn't recommend enough. Margaret was a fab host and the other lady working there was also extremely helpful and pleasant. We stayed In the Garden room which was gorgeous with a beautiful garden with access via a private conservatory. Quite quaint but plenty space for the two of us. Lots of added extras such as Hot Choc, Toiletries and a yummy fresh cooked breakfast each morning. Lovely people also staying at the guest house which was great for sharing ideas and local places to visit. Ideal location for exploring Portland with a bus stop just across the way. Parking was fine just down the road and luckily we managed to get a space when needed. Would definitely recommend and hopefully we will return soon. 

A Wonderful Visit on our First Trip to Portland 

We stayed in the Oyster Room over Christmas. We found the room to be very comfortable with a high standard of furnishing. The shower room was very modern,  with a good shower. The room is large with plenty of storage. We only used the room, as a relative lived very locally. Our welcome was warm and we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. Portland is a fascinating place.  We will definitely be returning! Thank you, Margaret.

High standard

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Queen Anne House B&B.  This house dates back to 1720.   We had the Garden Room on the ground floor at the back of the house.  We were happy having a quiet room away from any road noise possibly at the front of the house.  The Garden room is a small double and very compact with such a lovely comfy bed.  Margaret was so friendly and cooked the most amazing breakfast...it has to be the best we have ever had.   Breakfast was served in a large breakfast room with other guests although on the two mornings we had breakfast we were the only two eating as other guests had eaten and departed for the day.  You order breakfast the night before and the choice is amazing and there’s really something for everyone one.... fresh fruit, wide selection of cereals, fruit juices, tea, coffee, full English breakfast.  Could not fault service.  Thanks so much, a lovely stay.
We visited Portland Bill, saw the 2012 London Olympic Rings.
The only negative is the very distinct lack of places to eat at on Portland in close proximity to the B&B

Great stay

Beautiful 18th century B & B.  Very homely and inviting.  We had the Oyster Room which was stunning.  Beautiful garden where you could relax and wind down.  Breakfast was amazing.  Margaret very informative of local information.  We enjoyed the personal touch, sitting on a table with other guests and chatting over breakfast.  It made a welcome change from the less personal hotel accommodation.  Would love to return in the future.  Thanks for making the stay so special.

Perfect

This is a beautifully presented house with a welcoming feel from Margaret. Very stylish, clean and pretty house. Put together and run by Margaret. Very nice breakfast too with little touches to make it feel luxurious. Thank you to Margaret also for her kindness and advice on where to visit & where to dine out. We left feeling very pleased with our stay and looked after. 
We visited Portland Bill lighthouse and Lulworth Cove which both so enchanting & picturesque. Lots of smashing photos.

Lovely place to visit and stay 💕

Margaret gave us the heads up a few weeks before to book a restaurant for dinner which was very helpful and over and above and she also gave us a lovely welcome on arrival.  Quirky and elegant accommodation with simply stunning gardens to relax in after a busy day out. We had the Garden Room so had a private conservatory and door into the gardens. The room was very small but comfortable none the less with a well equipped equally quirky bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and served at a stylish table with the other guests although this felt a bit weird after socially distancing for so long. Perfectly situated for us to walk up or down to the tourist attractions. Nothing too much trouble. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Elegant and quirky

Queen Anne House bed and breakfast is a luxurious eighteenth century home to stay in whilst visiting this dramatic area of coastline for sailing, windsurfing or sightseeing. Margaret is friendly, welcoming and efficient; her breakfasts are delicious and her garden, the most beautiful I’ve ever seen at a private house. She also has a gorgeous cat, who’s allowed up to see you on request. We slept in the garden room suite, which was cosy, with direct access to the garden through an elegant conservatory. The suite also has an interesting Romanesque bathroom. You are close to Dorchester, Yarmouth and Bridport, with attractions such as the Abbotsbury Swannery and subtropical gardens. There is a sculpture park on the rock and dramatic views from Portland Bill lighthouse. We would definitely recommend.

An elegant and welcoming retreat

This is the place to stay if staying in Portland. We stayed in the White Room for the first night, which was beautiful and had a lovely view of the garden. We were then kindly moved, as I am pregnant and wanted a bath which we previously requested but was not available for the first night, to the Lotus room and this really is a stunning room! The interior made me feel like a princess! The bath is wonderful and although looks out on to the main road, you cannot hear anything. There is also a lovey selection of teas and hot chocolate with after eights in the room and the English breakfast is scrumptious!! We got to pick what we wanted included the night before, there is also a vegetarian option and there were a wide selection of cereals available too. The whole place is so beautiful! And we got free parking :) Margaret, who owns and runs the BnB is so friendly and welcoming and could not have done enough for us. She has great local knowledge and communication prior to our arrival  was easy and clear and answered all our questions. Honestly a fantastic host and place to stay!

A Royal Stay

Really disappointed as I booked what was described as a luxury double room with seating area for three nights for my mums birthday.  The room was approximately  6ftx9ft  with a dirty stained mattress on a rotting bed base that was held up by blocks of wood.  The seating area was a chair that looked like it was ready to fall apart.  The wardrobe and drawers were dusty with old Christmas wrapping paper in them and there was a dirty rug with all sorts of different stains.  The whole place felt dusty and like it needed a good clean.  It’s on a main Road and the traffic noise was horrendous.  Parking was at the back in a Church car park which had rubbish dumped, potholes, overgrown with weeds and looked like no one owned it.  We stayed one night, had breakfast which was ok but the tablecloth was covered in stains and things just didn’t look clean.  We had to sit at a table with two other guests, share serving spoons with all the other guests for fruit and cereal etc but there was a sign telling us not to touch the leaflets 🤣. We cancelled two of our nights and left.   It’s a real shame as it’s a beautiful building with lovely gardens but it definitely needs updating, cleaning and the White Room should be a single.
