Very clean and a great breakfast cooked by the landlord. The guesthouse itself is only a short walk from the waterfront, yet situation in a quiet road.  Very handy for all the restaurants and pubs on Plymouth Hoe and The Barbican. I very much look forward to my stay here again, next year.

Very good B&B...My third visit in four years.

As a Tour Manager nothing gives me more pleasure than g As a Tour Manager nothing gives me more pleasure than going to a place that is highly recommended and find it to be everything promised. This was not the case here - I have since read the negative reviews and must agree with much of what they say. The breakfast is excellent and the house is very clean. That’s where the positive ends. The proprietor is, quite simply, rude, not helpful at all. “Too busy”, he said, to help with a simple question - didn’t introduce himself when we arrived. No explanation as to how to reach him in an emergency.  We couldn’t wait to leave the place. He is unlike any other proprietor of a guest house I have ever stayed in in Europe.  The owners are usually part of the charm, the spirit of the house- good ones bend over backwards to help - (the one we are staying in now is lovely.) This was a terrible start to the vacation. I will not keep it on my list of recommendations - in fact, I will make sure that other managers and travel colleagues are made aware of the problems here. 


Very Disappointed

I have visited this guesthouse lots of times and find the location brilliant there are some really good bands near by and it is a short walk into Plymouth itself. The place is nice with a lovely family atmosphere as we are always well looked after. For us as a group of mature divers this place is 5 star 🌟

Diving trip

I think now our 5th stay at stay at the Moorings (this time 9 people) . As always standard are consistently high  with great hospitality, very clean and lovely full English breakfasts.

Another great stay at The Moorings

I have stayed in this guest house many times over the last 3 years whilst my daughter has been at Uni in Plymouth. They have a variety of rooms which are always very clean and have everything you may need for your stay. The place has a nice feel and the owners are friendly and welcoming making for a relaxed stay. They provide an excellent breakfast too with a lot of variety and are more than happy to meet dietary requirements when told at the time of booking.


Consistently Excellent Guest House

Absolutely loved our stay, even though it was a sad time, as we was down for a funeral, but Sam made our stay that little bit easier, so clean and the breakfast was lovely, definitely be back again and recommend to anyone.

Lovely local little gem. Close to all you need during a stay in Plymouth.
The owners are amazing, helpful and attentive to your needs. Rooms clean inviting and homely.
