Greystones

Great service, location, accommodations and breakfast.  It is a short downhill walk to town and the hotel overlooks the harbor.  The kindness of Archie and Mo cannot be overstated.  Really enjoyed breakfast (fabulous yogurt parfait!) and plenty to keep you going until dinner. Our room was large, comfortable bed, treat view.  Wish all our Scotland hotels were this nice!

From the moment my wife and I pulled into the parking area and saw the exquisite view and were greeted by our smiling hosts Mo and Archie, we knew we were in the perfect place in Oban to celebrate my big birthday with our equally delighted friends.  Archie singlehandedly carried our luggage to our amazing room, with panoramic ocean views, lovely furniture, fresh flowers, and a sparkling new bathroom larger than a floor of our NY home!  We were well-fed and cared for during our entire stay at Greystones and before we left were given terrific recommendations of things to do on the next legs of our UK vacation. What a special place and special hosts!

Hands down the best place I have stayed. The rooms and views are stunning. The hosts are kind and welcoming. Seeing Mo every morning was a highlight of our trip. She truly loves her guests and provides the most delicious breakfast. Could not recommend this wonderful B&B more.

My partner and I stayed at Greystones in early July and had the most amazing week here. Everything about our stay was perfect, even the weather!

Greystones itself is a beautiful building with glorious views over Oban and the bay. Our room was so clean and comfortable, with beautiful fresh flowers and delicious baked goods that we loved. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was huge, with a good shower. 

Mo & Archie are wonderful hosts, friendly and knowledgeable and so welcoming. The breakfasts were huge with so much choice, including breakfasts to go for our early starts on our trips to the islands. 

We’d highly recommend Greystones for a trip to Oban, it’s in a great location and is perfect in every way.

Absolutely fabulous place, insanely great views, top notch rooms, great breakfast and warm welcoming helpful hosts.  Very limited number of rooms, so I wonder if I’ll ever get another reservation due to once the word gets out, ouch.  I’d post some pictures, but note the ones already do it justice.

Very much enjoyed staying at Greystones in Oban. The view over the harbor was sublime. The suite was perfect, fresh flowers and a very comfy bed. Great location, friendly hosts, and delicious breakfast. I'd stay here again(and again!)

We stayed at Greystones for 2 nights in July while we explored Oban and the surrounding islands, and we had a great experience. The house is beautiful and our room was lovely and perfectly situated with great views of the harbor. The fresh flowers were such a nice touch! Archie and Mo were wonderful hosts; we had to miss breakfast the first day because we had an early tour planned, and they sent us off with a takeaway breakfast which was so thoughtful and much appreciated. Thank you both so much for making our trip so pleasant!

Perfect little B&B owned by a lovely couple, Moe and Archie. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Very clean and beautiful spot. Stayed here for 3 nights and everything was exceptional. Delicious large breakfast of your choosing is provided every morning. Moe will often make muffins to take to go as well. Got great recommendations daily for things to do and places to eat. The house is perched above town so there is a great view, but it’s still only a two minute walk down the hill to town. We stayed in the ocean view room which was stunning. Everything about this place is top notch. Not to be missed.

The accommodations at Greystones are outstanding! We were greeted by Archie who showed us to our room and immediately provided us with tea, brownies, and blue berries to enjoy as we settled in.
I don’t know what the other rooms are like, but the turret suite was just beautiful with a delightful sitting space overlooking the quaint town of Oban and the boats in the Fifth of Lorn. It also had a huge bathroom with heated floor to keep your feet toasty!
Although I don’t usually eat breakfast, why stay at a B&B if you don’t take advantage? The berries waiting for you at the table were huge and so sweet, and the raspberry white chocolate muffins were delicious. I got the “Greystone Grill” both mornings we were there, and everything was cooked perfectly-I recommend being brave and adventurous and adding on the haggis and/or blood pudding!

It has been 6 months since our trip to Scotland, and I am very remiss in leaving this review of Greystones. However, as we all know, memories tend to fade as time goes by, but the most memorable ones remain. And so it is with Greystones. 
During our 3 weeks in Scotland, we stayed at 6 different B&B's. Although the others were lovely, this one was, without a doubt, our favorite. As was the city of Oban.
Our room, the hosts (Archie & Mo), the views, were all exceptional. So much so, that we plan on returning at some point in time and couldn't think of staying anywhere else. 
And thank you, Mo, for your help in planning places to see and things to do while we were in Oban. You are a delight, and I felt I could sit down with you and have a wonderful conversation over a cup of tea!
