The Tin Church

The Tin Church offers the most charming accommodation. Exquisitely refurbished in true Art Deco style. The kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need. The lounge has a gorgeous open fire with big  sofas to cuddle up on. The dinning room is utterly stunning and the bedrooms are furnished with beautiful Art Deco furniture and the beds super comfy. There’s a library on the first floor with lots of interesting books should you want to select a good read while relaxing in the hot tub, before nipping into the sauna, both  located in the garden.
The views from the Tin Church are breathtaking. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this accommodation to anyone. Try hard to beat ❤️

The weather was good. The Tin Church was available for the night. Given we made a last minute decision as a family with two kids (8&5) I'd have been happy with a bed for the night. The freshly baked bread, juice and milk in the fridge, and some good coffee made this exceptional. Photo is from the top of the hill, just a few seconds from the house. 

Happy to add to the list of 5* reviews for The Tin Church: this place is superb and the hosts, Paul and Margaret, are very welcoming.

The setting is beautiful, surrounded by a mature garden and it is just down the road from one of the best viewpoints on the island. The whole place has everything you need and with the under-floor heating it was also very cosy (we visited in October).

Highly recommended!

Two Night stay
Rented the smaller part of the Tin Church building for a couple of nights 
A nice bolthole for a weekend break
Travelled by car and found the Building without any difficulty
Rooms were comfortable and clean and lovely views from the Church 
Tin Church is a quirky ,interesting Building and ideal for a summer weekend break

Stayed Monday to Friday last week and what an amazing location. The accomodation was comfortable everything you need and basic groceries supplied to get you through until you do a shop. 
Roll on August when we visit again.

Wedding Anniversary

Lovely Break

Text: Terribly disappointed. We had initially booked this for 2020 but were forced to cancel due to lockdown. We have found the owner difficult to get hold of and extremely  slow to reply but eventually having managed to reach him he agreed to hold on to our deposit and rebook for the following year for the same number of people. The original terms of booking were unchanged and we did not ask for any changes to be made subsequently. Nearer the time we were due to go I contacted the owner to check the price remained the same as was agreed upon the previous year. In this communication I said I'd be happy to pay more despite the owner not stating any price change when we rebooked. He did not respond to this. The owner cancelled less than three weeks before we were due to arrive with no warning, explanation or apology. This gave us no time to book anything else. This would have been the last holiday with my husband's parents as his dad passed away at the end of last year. We were absolutely devestated. I would not recommend anyone booking this.

Unreliable, poor communication

The photos on trip advisor are NOT up to date! 

We booked this break away to celebrate my mums 60th at the end of April this year. On arrival to the Tin Church the views and locations were breathtaking but as we pulled upto the drive way we noticed right away a lot of clutter and rubbish laying around ie wrecked cars, tyres, rope and old bike with a sign wrote on it saying do not sit. No welcome from the owner the keys for the property were left in an open key box on a tree, as we entered the hall way it was clear right away that it hasn’t been cleaned, floors were dirty paw prints and dog hair everywhere including in the beds, the kitchen was filthy! Lots of photo frames and clutter laying on the floor, blinds fallen down as not enough hooks to support it. Flooring was loose and coming away that was a trip hazard especially for my 2 year old nephew & the smell wasn’t pleasant at all. I was shocked as all the reviews and photos I’d seen online were really good! we immediately called Bill the owner to ask why the accommodation hasn’t been cleaned especially the bedding his reply was that it had a two day clean and that we were making it up.(why would we make it up) last thing you want on a family trip away with children to celebrate my mums birthday is to start cleaning and change bedding!!! Not happy at all!! Bill then called back few hours later to say we could extend our stay to sun evening as he wanted to appease us as to say sorry I guess...We reluctantly accepted as we had already cleaned the property and changed all the beds. 

Next day came the hot tub needed topped up with more chemicals and we still had no hot water plus the sauna wasn’t working.. called bill who said the hot tub only got attended to every 4 days and the sauna should be working.. turns out he didn’t tell us the sauna was turned off at the mains in the house. 

Hot/cold showers were not fun! 

If it hadnt of been for the scenery and the weather we would have refused to stay for the 2 nights at the Tin Church. Bill was arrogant and extremely unhelpful. 

Last day arrived .. loud bang at the door at 11:10 my dad answered to Bill standing aggressively shouting you have 20mins to leave! 5 adults and 3 children thrown out with 20mins notice after he said we could stay till evening!! Unbelievable behaviour from the owner!  

We were also told the day before we arrived that the cleaner would be staying in the 1bed apartment attached to the house for the 1st night which was not an issue to us, soon we discovered that it was in fact Bill the owner who was staying and not a cleaner, In fact  Bill has been residing in the Tin Church for some time according to locals. Bill was intoxicated the full time we were there, it’s such a shame as you can see the potential in the Tin Church but because of the owner it’s so run down.
