I stayed here for over 2 weeks, mostly by myself, with my husband joining me at some points of my stay. when I booked I didn't know how long I would be staying, as my dad was in the last stages of his life and I wanted to be nearby. At first I was there only to sleep for a few hours each night. My room was a cosy and welcoming retreat at the end of each day. I just kept Vince informed of my situation and the room was kept a available for me.
After a few days my dad died. It was then that I realized how fortunate I was to be staying in such a friendly place. Sarah and Vince were so kind, checking on me to make sure I was ok and had everything I needed, whilst ensuring that I had space, peace and quiet. 
I went home for a few days and returned with my husband to attend the funeral. We were given the same room, which had become home from home for me. 
Thank you Vince and Sarah for everything. I am so glad that I was able to stay at the King William -I don't think I would have felt so comfortable and looked after anywhere else during this difficult time.

Welcoming and friendly

Very dated room, broken fixtures and uncomfortable beds. Bathroom dated and mouldy with rusty fixtures. Carpets dirty no breakfast available 

We paid under £50 for two but wished we’d paid more and stayed somewhere else

It’s cheap

Arrived in the afternoon, was guided into the barriered car park by the owner, checked into the twin room, I asked a fair few questions as I didn't know what was open around there and the owner answered every question.

Nice stay and a good price

Fishing trip 

Unfamiliar with the area, we chose the VS King William as it was perfectly located.  March is a delightful smalll town and the Christmas lights were amazing!  Also the VS King William was warm and welcoming.  We were given the newly refurbished ground-floor room away from traffic noise as Vincent said traffic started early in the morning!  He'd put the heat on for us (it was a bitter cold day) and we had a really good night's sleep.  Breakfast was lovely - we just told Sarah exactly what we fancied, and it was perfect.  The carpark is small, but suited us well.  Vincent mentioned the Crown for evening dinner, and we were delighted with his recommendation.  We'd like to visit March again in a better season, and would stay with Vincent and Sarah again.  Thank you.

Thank you, another lovely stay at the barn. Vince and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. Clean and tidy rooms. Breakfast was great, cereals/English full breakfast. Free parking. See you again soon.

Another fantastic stay 


 · Lovely comfortable room. New decor throughout.Nice beds and bedding.Friendly, helpful staff and owners. Breakfast was good, dining room had plenty of space and help yourself drinks, cereal, toast yoghurt with option of cooked food too. Doesn’t look much from outside but so much better than I expected.nice large shower and very clean bathroom. Secure parking. Usually stay elsewhere when in March but they were full. Will definitely make this our first choice in future. Brilliant value for money!


Lovely weekend visiting family 

Where to start with this one.  No lift, bedroom adequate but no sheets on the bed and bedspread was badly stained.  Breakfast was hit and miss depending who cooked it and sausages were like rubber.  In fact one day it was inedible.  Now if anybody thinks Basil Fawlty is rude and unfriendly then they should try this place.  We were in the breakfast room when an elderly lady came in and she was immediately approached by a woman who told her she had to sit on a special chair - yes she was a little on the larger size but nothing to warrant being singled out like that and then she proceeded to ask her to pay her bill in full that day even though she was not leaving.  To be honest it was great when the lady completely ignored her and went to sit at another table with a regular chair.  I felt embarrassed for the hotel and as we were going out that morning I heard the same woman badgering the lady in her room.  It made my heart warm when the lady told her to go away and stop knocking on her door.  This chaos went on for a while until I heard the worker saying it was all a mistake and that the King William was her friend.  I have NEVER witnessed anything like it outside of the TV!

Uh oh!

Stayed in vs King William for 1night. Was meet by a member of staff who made me feel very welcome. Room was very clean and toilet was spotless. Would definitely stay here again if I was in March. Breakfast looked good but I had to meet my friend so didn't have time for breakfast. 

Visiting friend 

Staff were extremely helpful and genuinely warm. Very impressed and would stay here again if back in March. Great stay at good value for money! This was booked as we were looking for somewhere affordable for a short stay and it met all our needs and more.
