I was the organiser for a group booking at this hotel. The staff knowingly put people in rooms with bed bugs and a large number of people had to find alternative accommodation and have unfortunately come home with them so need to now eradicate them from their homes. 
In addition to these huge issue, some rooms had leaks, some had no hot water and some had no heating. 
All in all a horrendous experience.

Do not stay here

On arrival our rooms were ready but we needed to climb some stairs to ours, it was not a problem to the staff who straight away gave us another room to cope with my husbands needs. Breakfast was excellent and served hot to the table.

A very pleasant stay

Our 5th stay at the ambassador, rooms are adequate, breakfast good, plenty of choice, Patisserie food excellent, especially ham sandwiches on proper bread, not bought sliced, staff friendly and helpful.

Another Ambassador stay

We had a most enjoyable break, could only come for 4 days but came home feeling relaxed, rested and restored  for winter.  The hotel is peaceful and the warm welcome is so nice to receive. Its location is oerfect

MY welcome winter break

We were worried about staying here after seeing some of the reviews but to be honest we need not have worried. We stayed with family for the weekend. 
Yes the hotel is looking tired and in need of an update, But to be honest for the price  we paid we all thought it was very good value. 
The food served was very good with choices and the rooms were clean with hot showers . 
We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again in the future.

Good stay

as non-residents we Popped in for a quick drink on 23/6/19.
The wife had a mixer and coke(Pepsi) and I had a straight pepsi.
After the old lady poured the pepsi I could tell instantly the pepsi had gone as was really light in colour and needed changing,the lady still continued to pour the mixer and pepsi after.
When I pointed out the pepsi had gone she replied "yes I was just thinking that myself,I think someone's gone to change it".
Immediately she poured another pepsi,which looked fine.
But instead of doing a new mixer and pepsi she just topped up the watery mixer with pepsi!
I didn't say anything as didn't want to make a fuss.
We sat down to drink them and soon realised the straight pepsi was actually pepsi max.
So it seems the pepsi simply hadn't been changed and the lady just poured a pepsi max hoping we wouldn't notice the taste difference. 
I didn't appreciate being lied to and didn't appreciate the fact the lady saw fit to top up a fizzy water and malibu with pepsi max when a new drink should have been offered.
It may seem a small issue,but things like this means when we stay in Llandudno again we'll never stay at this hotel.

Poor service

Excellent weekend away at this hotel, yes it's a bit tired and dated but it adds to it's charm. Comfy and cosy hotel in an excellent location. Staff polite and respectful, lovely breakfast and evening meal.

Lovely stay

We had a really pleasant visit. Used a groupon voucher so wasn’t expecting much other than a bed for the night but was surprised. As most of the previous reviews outline, it’s an old hotel and some areas are extremely tired, carpets completely threadbare in places so definitely not the best first impression. Corridors also a bit stuffy. 
Superb location.  Outside the hotel also needs attention as it looks shabby compared to neighbouring properties.  Check in was ok and clear direction given to car park. Room very chintzy, very old but spotlessly clean. Bathroom also basic but it had a spa bath and was sparkling clean.  
After check in, we went down to the conservatory lounge area for afternoon tea which was really pleasant - just completely silent no music or atmosphere. Tea with warm scones, whipped cream and jam served by a really lovely lady who engaged us in conversation. The loose leaf tea was a nice touch. 
Good place to be based as everything is so close by.  Weather was horrendous so we elected to have dinner in the hotel. Almost couldn’t fault the meal.  Soup - outstandingly good.  Roast lamb/ Potato Gratin - excellent. Accompanying vegetables freshly cooked. Service very (very!) quick.  Staff more efficient than friendly - which is fine when you want a quick dinner as we did. Public areas and bar/ dining room are much smarter than other public areas. 
Slept really well, breakfast was busy, and the service was brisk and efficient.  Extra hot toast brought on request.  Plenty of variety and everything was freshly cooked so it hadn’t been stood on a hot plate drying out under heat lamps.
Would absolutely stay again.  This hotel definitely isn’t for you if you like everything modern and perfect, but the staff are excellent, it’s clean, cozy and perfectly located.  All the meals I had were excellent - and superb value.  For one, or perhaps two nights it will fit the bill perfectly. 


Pleasant surprise!

Food is lovely and service is super quick.
All staff are lovely and helpful.
No heating in room, asked on 3 occasions for this to rectified but still no heating and no solution was offered, nor did anyone come back to me about the problem.

just returned home from weekend break at this hotel. We go every year or more if possible. If our only gripe is trying find somewhere to park, but this is everywere in uk. We have no problems with the ambassador, maybe we're not too fussy people like some. We get a good room, sometimes overlooking sea.  This time we got room 311 which was fine,enough space for three days stay. The lift is now working, although your greeted with a jolt when you press for your floor and when it's down (would make a great defibrillator) joking of course.. The breakfast and evening meals are very good. We loved the lamb, very tender and plenty of it. (congrats to the chef) The staff are lovely and friendly, esp mikala and Alicia. Of course maybe some rooms are outdated it's not the raddison, but as for a short break it's very good. Your near to the orme, the beach, shop's. etc. The staff at the check in/out are helpful and friendly and never had any problems with them. We like very much this hotel and hopefully will be going again very soon.
