We always eat at the miller & carter in Sutton Coldfield Birmingham. The two reasons we booked to eat here was knowing miller & carter’s reputation& we were staying in the hotel above the restaurant.The food did not disappoint. We were all impressed with our meals. My four year old loved the kids Mac& cheese. I had the halloumi fries as a starter & steak with peppercorn sauce. The service was also top standard. I was also impressed with how clean the toilets were .

Was a lovely valentines meal! Amy was really friendly and helpful and although I have had better meals at Miller and Carter she made the experience really great. The Valentine’s Day set menu was a great experience and I will be back next year!

Great service

Very disappointing visit worse meal we had had in a long time, food was warm sauces were cold.
 We waited 10 mins in between wedge and steak to come out.
We were Seated near to the door which was constantly opened by smokers altho restaurant was not busy we would of been better at another table we pointed this out to the server but really shouldn't of been put there in the first place.
Definitely not up to their usual standard having been many times before and enjoying our experience,its disappointing to see how things have changed.
 I will not be going back no time soon and will not be recommending here for a meal to anyone I Know.



Very disappointing new year visit.

Four of us went for the Christmas meal on boxing day two of the party had the Christmas dinner and the other two had steaks. All meals were absolutely excellent. Our waiter was Jamie, he was fantastic, very friendly and efficient although he was extremely busy he never made made us feel rushed. Would definitely recommend a visit and will be back there soon.

Boxing day treat.

Visited her several times and always enjoy our visit. The food today was lovely and fairly priced. We both tried the Burger and side salad which is rare for me but it was delicious as were our starters and cocktails.
Our server was Jamie he was so helpful and a cheerful lad.
I am looking forward to our next visit.
All the staff are nice and polite and the surroundings are lovely.

Another lovely visit.

Stayed in this lovely  hotel for one night rooms and staff are lovely  my husband booked us a meal it was delicious  enjoyed a couple of cocktails too not cheap but worth it . The price to stay overnight was cheap 62pound for us both beautiful  surroundings would definatly stay again .

Overnight stay while going to turkey

Staff really pleasant and room comfortable. Has to ask fir room to be cleaned as dirty on arrival however staff very attentive and resolved this with no issue. Would have given 5 otherwise. Great for airport and free parking. On site restaurant excellent.

Perfect for airport or short stay in area

Dined on a busy Saturday night (8/7/23) and ended up being placed near a table with highly disruptive and unruly children. I noticed the manager ask them to keep the noise down a number of times, but this did not help. 
In the end we had to ask to move as it was ruining our evening. I noticed other tables do this too. Felt quite sorry for the staff as I could see a lot of tables getting angry and asking to speak to managers due to the noise. 
Other than that, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating, the food was amazing. 

Accommodating staff, amazing food. 

Not overly impressed. Bed was comfortable but room was very hot and no ventilation. Very tiny sink useless for shaving and washes. The shower was great. Some of the staff  are miserable and unpleasant. My husband and I went out through the main entrance instead of the side entrance as it was easier, as he uses a mobility scooter.We were told we shouldn’t use this entrance and he unlocked the door to let us out begrudgingly. Next the crafty devil left the front door open anyway to suit the staff as it was hot. Talk about selfish. Won’t go back. Expensive for what it is . Mediocre.

Anniversary celebration.

We discovered this branch of the chain on a visit to Greater Manchester to move our son to University. Other locations closer to home (London) had recently been a little hit and miss, so Heaton Chapel was a welcome change when we first dropped in just under. 12 months ago. The food was good. The service, warm, friendly and efficient.
I say all this, because a return visit, after a busy day moving our son to his new digs, was a warning that past performance is no guarantee….
Good things first. The food remained tasty and arrived promptly. Etc
However the warning that things on the service side might not meet the previous standard, probably came with the apology from our waitress for a delay in taking order, as she served a neighbouring table. TBH, it wasn’t a problem, but the desire to get our drinks order underway, meant it was taken by another member of staff. 
Now let me start by saying, we had not fine looking for a deal, but seeing s card on the table advertising “steak and a cocktail,” obviously aimed at boosting trade in a quiet Monday evening, we decided to take advantage. 
Drinks ordered, as part of the deal, we sat back and waited. When the food order, was taken, we again made plain that all three of us were taking advantage of the offer. After requesting our starters we ordered the steaks, two sirloin and a rump. There was a moment when a non-offer steak was requested by my wife, before it was pointed out that we were ordering from the choices in the offer.
Our order taken, we began to enjoy our meal, albeit the cocktails were a little uninspiring. But, as wife and son agreed we were in a steak house and not a cocktail bar, so what should you expect.
The evening was enjoyed and we relaxed after a tiring day, until the bill was requested. 
When it arrived, there was no mention of the deal on the check. Querying it, there were profuse apologies before a revised bill was produced, this one with two of us shown as having taken advantage of the deal. What  about or son, we asked. He had ordered a non- deal steak, we were told and the order had been read back to us. If we wanted, we could query it with him on his return from the bathroom. 
We didn’t and at this stage, tired  and weary after a day spent moving house, we paid. 
For the record, on his return, our son was quite certain he had been ordering from the deal and when the order was read back, there had been no distinction made between offer and none offer steaks, merely the fact that we had one rump and two sirloins, and how they were to be cooked. 
Should we just put up and take the hit? Well the mistake inflated a bill already over the £100 mark by around £20, so it was a hefty hit and let’s be honest had left a nasty taste that means we are unlikely to return.
So the final verdict, in our return visit?
The food remains good, but the service, however outwardly friendly, was in the end a deal breaker - in every sense.
