I am not sure what to say really. Managed to get  parked outside the property, which maybe tricker at other times. 

Donna introduced herself and explained the breakfast ordering system. Whereby you place your order the night before on a slip in the entrance hallway, for service the next day. Noted. 

The room was tastefully decorated and above an average size for a family. We had a fridge in our room which contained the previous guests leftover Chinese takeaway! 

The room was missing some bulbs from the wall
sconces. Which Donna very kindly replaced even though we hadn’t asked her directly… 

We were advised if the fridge was too nosey - to turn it off. 

We ordered food in and were told we could eat it in the dining room using the available crockery and cutlery. We noticed that the pats of butter were already on the table for breakfast. 

The self service area of the dining room (fridge/toaster) could have done with some updating and cleaning. 

Donna explained to us that she would be leaving the business after our stay on the Saturday, after many years of business. 

During the night I heard dripping water which woke me. After some initial investigation I noticed the noise and subsequent water discharge from the room above mine, flowed via our room and into and via our bathroom! It sounded really loud and was quite a shock late at night. 

The shower ran at snails pace, making showering a lengthy process. I personally didn’t want the previous guests toiletries either. Towels smelled as if they had not been dried throughly. 

Someone in the property smoked. The smell of the smoke hung in the air and wasn’t pleasant at all. This was habitual smoke, not someone having a cigarette outside. 

Breakfast was well below my expectation for a ‘’Scottish Breakfast‘’. My egg was solid and microwaved to oblivion. The sausage was burnt and like a burnt wafer and the aforementioned butter pats from the previous night where still there. I asked for butter from a fridge and was given a look of disgust. 

Given the hideous breakfast experience we decided against ordering the next day - therefore we DIDN’T place a breakfast order/slip.

Come check out day, I loaded the car with the suitcases, I was accosted by Donna who demanded to know when we were coming for breakfast. I informed her that we weren’t hence why we hadn’t placed an order the previous night. Merely following her instruction when we checked in. 

She became super defensive and walked away muttering that she had already cooked it! 

I asked to pay our full bill, then departed without so much as bye nor leave from
Donna. 
 
We liked our room, we liked the front aspect view. We liked the ease of parking. However the frosty attitude left us feeling cold and for the reason we wouldn’t return.

Not for us.

Donna the owner was a wee gem, we had a lovely stay and the rooms were immaculate,We were made at home and everything was as we had been expecting.The breakfast was of a high standard and would have no problem recommending this accomodation to others and will return when in the area

Nice place

This is our second visit to Donnas B&B and it was as though we had never been away.

 We were there from Wednesday till Saturday morning and it was a really pleasant time away. 

Donnas cooked breakfasts are a god send always cooked the way you ,like it also cereals are there for you if you want with lashes of tea and Coffee and of course hot toast. 

Visited Dalbeaty, Kirkcudbright, which is a really nice place to spend an afternoon then we moved on to Gatehouse of Fleet  and was another nice border town to wile away an hour or so. Friday we spent on the town of Moffat which is a bustling market town and once again another pleasant few hours with lots of eating places to grab a cup of tea or coffee or lunch. 

So all in all we had a great time and can highly recommend Donnas Langland's Bed And Breakfast

A welcome return to Donnas B & B

Stayed here as a last minute change of plans.
What a result. Donna the owner is friendly and welcoming from the moment you arrive.
The place is spotlessly clean, comfy beds, nice decor and tea making facilities in the rooms.
Fast WiFi is free as well.
I was in front facing room so looking onto road ( and river too) it is quite a busy road so some road noise can be heard but maybe I am a wee bit sensitive as I normally live in the middle of nowhere lol....the only gripe from me is the curtains are not blackout curtains so woken early by light streaming in the window...again I am a light sleeper so maybe wouldn't bother most folk but a personal dislike nontheless.
Have to mention the breakfast....OOFT 😋 phenomenal, a proper full SCOTTISH, just the ticket after a night oot on the skite.
Great stay, 10000% recommended by myself if in Dumfries.

AWESOME B & B.....

Booked in for one night lovely clean room and breakfast was generous more than I expected for the value price of 30 pounds had a lovely view as well out over the river. Close to town centre and all amenities 

Overnight trip

stayed for a 2 night break late october ,our 1st time at "donnas" but certainly not our last ,Donna is an amazing host , from her initial greeting at the entrance to a lovely goodbye hug on leaving she ensures that your stay is everything it should be.The accomodation is a credit to her ,clean spacious and on a chilly october lovely and warm , giving it a homely cosy atmosphere .Breakfast was excellent and plentiful ,again catering to your every whim.Everything taken into consideration i would not hesitate recommending "donnas" ,its everything one would expect from a bed and breakfast and more ..

brilliant accomodation !!

This is a nice place in a good location. Donna is a good host and looks after a nice place.

Good size rooms with a reasonable price. Most importantly for us as none drivers is the location. This is 5 minutes from the train station and 10 minutest from the main bus stops.

Nice breakfast. Would go back if in the area again.

Good Location 

We booked this venue from Monday 19th  August till the 23rd and had a brilliant week. 

Right from our arrival Donna was a perfect host instructed us on the rules of the house and how get into the plaxce on our return. 

Her breakfast could not be faulted either Cerials, Friut Juices, our a full cooked breakfast as well as the former.

Our room was large with en-suite facilities and was comfortable though the lighting could have been a bit brighter if you wanted to read a book.

There are plenty of places to visit around the local area and further afield if that takes your fancy.

In Dumfries itself there are plewnty of eating places we visited THE ROBERT THE BRUCE one of the Wotherspoons retaurants and was quite  pleasent with parking after 18:30 no problem.

We will certainly be returning to Langlands in the future

Another new Venue for us and not disappointed

We stayed here overnight as we were passing through Dumfries, and were quite impressed. The room was HUGE, overlooked the river and very comfortable. Donna was very helpful and welcoming, providing us with ideas and discounts for where to go for dinner. Breakfast was good, although we were surprised by the potato smiles!
