We had a fabulous Sunday lunch with our family here. The roasts were very generous and absolutely delicious. We loved that each roast came with the specific gravy, something that can be quite hard to come by in other pubs! Service was excellent, Carrie and Edith made us feel right at home. They had got a top quality high chair for our son (7mo) set out with baby cutlery for him to try out some of the veggies. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Sunday lunch

The Lampet Arms is unusual and a refreshing change from the run of the mill pubs and  is the heart of the village. Edith and Carrie have created and provide a welcoming home from home B&B along with the pub. There was some excellent live music on the weekend we stayed, which we enjoyed. We felt very welcome in the village and hope it won’t be long before we return.

The Lovely Lampet Arms

We write this review with the understanding of how the hospitality industry works having worked in the trade for over 35+ years and know how reviews can influence choice.
Unfortunately we were overcharged and rates changed to suit. Booked direct given a price, agreed, confirmation email sent from Edith. Charged different rate and then told we didn't advise of extra person in room even though clearly identified in confirmation email! (Screenshot attached) This was forwarded back but was ignored. Spoke with Edith several times but it is clear prices are made up according to own agenda. Excuses made about different prices at weekends and new website, but surely if you book direct as we did then the owners should be aware of all information!!
Prices in bar not cheap, menu not available and was cooked according to what was in the fridge, breakfast was ok, basic offering , no juices, tea and coffee supplied, but food in general was low quality and charged top price, £17 for Roast Beef, overcooked, 1 choice for dessert, traditional trifle that was flavourless, ad hoc ordering of supplies didn't support choice. 
The rooms are pleasant enough, locals friendly, shame that we were not charged as agreed, leaves a bad taste. Family wanted to return, but after this felt that if monies were taken without agreement then safer to avoid.
This pub is run by people who are new to the trade and so allowances are made. Basic hospitality is difficult to get right and the Lampet Arms has a long way to go. We hope that they look at this and reassess their business model as if they continue they will kill any remaining trade with their hap-hazard approach. Shame, as a family we accept things as they come, but won't accept unauthorised payments from our bank accounts.

Buyer beware!

Dreadful experience trying to book a weekend stay at this establishment.  Booked through Booking.com and paid in full at the time of booking.  Subsequently received an e-mail from Lampet Arms saying price not yet set for dates in question even though booking completed and payment taken at price quoted.  I e-mailed Lampet Arms twice to try and find out what was going on but failed to get any response from them.  Not able to contact them by telephone either.  Booking.com also failed to obtain any response.  Very amateur operation from my brief experience and one to be avoided.

Dreadful experience

We stayed for one night after attending a family function in the village hall. It was so convenient - literally just across the road! 
We had the most amazing welcome from both ladies and were shown the accommodation (which is in a separate building from the pub).  We had a choice of two spotlessly clean en suite rooms with their own private access.
Once we selected our room we were given the key and were free to return as and when we needed to.  
The room we chose was very spacious,  had a double and single bed, beautiful modern en-suite and plenty of luxurious towels and toiletries.  The bedding was absolutely gorgeous and the bed so comfortable, we didn’t want to get up the next morning! 
We were treated to a wonderful home cooked generous breakfast and plenty of refills of tea/coffee.  Nothing was too much trouble.  The ladies really made us feel very welcome and looked after us so well.  
We will definitely be staying again! 
P.s. Husband recommends the local beer! X

Best b&b in the area!

very impressed with this absolute gem of a find. Perfect for myself working away as room includes a fridge clean linen and toiletries. extremely modern bathroom with a waterfall shower. cannot recommend this place enough

Perfect stay 10/10

We stayed at the Lampet Arms for one night as we were attending a wedding in the area. I can't say enough good things about it. The ladies who run the place are genuinely lovely people. The room we had was absolutely spotless and freshly decorated. There was live music in the bar on the night we stayed but we couldn't hear a thing from our room. My only niggle was that there was no blind or curtains on one of the windows. I didn't notice until I had got into bed and at that point there was no way I was getting out again. I'm someone who likes it to be pitch black when I sleep so it's only a problem for me. I am sure one will be fitted, as I said the room was clearly brand new so it's probably just not been done yet. There were plenty of towels, the toiletries provided were abundant and the room was a decent size. All in all we had a very positive experience and we will definitely stay again. 

Fantastic

Our bedroom had two large beds in it and still had plenty of room to spare.  The bathroom was stylishly fitted and larger than some double bedrooms I have stayed in.  The accommodation is behind the pub so there were no noise issues at all.  The bed I slept in was extremely comfortable with very fresh linen and an abundance of towels.

Edith and Carrie were wonderful friendly hosts and I hope their ambitions for updating the pub come to fruition.  Hopefully the pub will have a kitchen when I visit again in 6 months time as it would be great to have a meal and some drinks without having to drive anywhere.

An absolute pleasure from start of meal to finish. The Fish pie is to die for.

A night to remember

We won a meal for 2 at the Lampet Arms in a Christmas raffle, but have been unable to visit until now due to Covid. It’s not somewhere we would have thought about going but it was fabulous and we’ll certainly go back.
The roast beef was excellent and was melt in the mouth. Fluffy homemade Yorkshire puddings and lots of fresh vegetables. The portions were huge and we left feeling stuffed. 
The landlord and landlady were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The locals were an amusing source of entertainment too.
All in all a very homely pub with great food!
