We had a lovely weekend in Cambridge and were really lucky with the weather for January! We parked at Tesco and walked back across the road to the hotel to check in as the hotel car park was full. Easy to pay on the app and we extended our parking the next day as we took an Uber for £7 into the town (which is about 25 minutes walk away from the hotel) . We always have the premier inn breakfast as they are always good and our children really love having such a good choice. Thank you so much to the hotel for re-uniting our daughters toy rabbit with her ( as she accidentally left it in our room on checkout)  and sending it straight away to our home address…. Super kind of them 😃

Very enjoyable stay

Attention to detail is the only thing stopping this from being a five-star review.

For our US readers, the Premier Inn is a budget (but the upscale cousin to the even more budget UK Travelodge) hotel chain. We chose the more upscale as, well... we're on holiday and didn't want to go completely on the cheap. We also chose a Premier Plus room, and that is what this review is based on. I didn't see any of the regular rooms.

The Premier Plus rooms have more amenities: a Nespresso machine, iron and board, included Ultimate Wifi (payable with regular rooms, but free, slower, wifi is also available).

In the bathroom: Nice hand and bath soap. No lotion or shampoo. Large towels.

Was nice to have: Real mugs and glasses. Very small fridge, and just large enough to wedge a bottle of wine and a pint of milk in there.
Would have been nice to have: 2 seats in seating area instead of one of us being able to sit in an armchair and one having to sit on the bed.

Back to the attention to detail... we didn't get the Ultimate Wifi information on check-in and I didn't remember it being included until the following morning. There seemed to be something missing from the amenities every day. We were missing coffee and tea one day, then tea spoons the next day. We always seemed to be popping down to reception for one thing or another, but otherwise a good stay and close to town.

Good, affordable city center-ish hotel

My room was very comfortable.  We had breakfast throughout our stay and it was hot and tasty.  The staff were so helpful and friendly, especially Ferdi on reception , so happy, and Tony in the bar area.

Cambridge stay beats January  blues

Great place - little bit further out of town than ideal, but didn’t spoil our stay. 
All the staff were really lovely, friendly and helpful ( as Premier staff always are !)
Particular praise for Tony and Ferdi, both so helpful and welcoming.
My friend and I got Premier Plus rooms for an amazing price, spacious and clean. I still don’t understand why only one armchair though ? Have stayed with my husband before in such rooms - who gets the chair ?

Great stay, staff lovely

I actually couldn't believe that I was at a Premier Inn. The Cambridge East Premier Inn certainly raises the standard. I would have been happy to pay double or even three times the rate that i was charged. 4 star accommodation in every respect. Well done.

Excellent Premier Inn

You know what you get at a Premier Inn and this one did not disappoint. Parking can be a problem there, although it looks as though more parking space is being provided. But the alternative of parking at Tescos opposite the hotel is quite reasonable - and cheaper!

Good location for a visit to Cambridge

Good location walking distance to centre. Good breakfast. Staff are friendly, Anjum was really helpful. 
Wifi very disappointing. 
Parking is difficult. It’s limited and chargeable. We’ll be back, it suits us. 

A good Premier Inn

Overall, it was everything that you could want from a Premier Inn. Clean room, really comfy bed and friendly staff. Staff a bit over stretched and the evening food was not good. Breakfast was, however, great.

Lovely staff checked us in early on arrival arriving with two kids. Family room was perfect and super clean. Breakfast as ever a bargain as two kids eat free with one adult. Quick buses into town we were there to see a show but could have walked too. Handy retail park next door for extra snacks. Can't fault it. 

Perfect Premier Inn as ever 

The hotel was in a good location for our requirements. The hotel itself was very clean and the staff were very helpful too. The room was spacious, clean, bed comfortable and shower was powerful. We felt safe there, the rooms were quiet so sleep was good! A fast boil kettle, coffee machine and fridge was also well used. The air on is adjustable and the desk area is a good size. We have booked several more stays now as happy to stay. Unfortunately the restaurant was not open on our first night and the second night was very slow. So we decided to eat out from there onwards, which was OK as there are lots of places nearby to eat in.
