Had a 2 night stay here , the apartment was lovely , we chose the ground floor over looking the garden and abbey, and was quiet , lovely comfy bed and loved having a sofa at the end of bed so we could sit with a cuppa looking at the view out the window . Only a 10 min walk to town and free parking on site. We will definitely return there .

Great apartment

A big room, nice bed and quiet at the back of house but could use some extra touches to make it less soulless feeling.
Fridge was a bit black so had to clean it and floor could be cleaner 
Self catering room but no toaster just sink and little fridge. A knife and a couple of plates would have been useful.
Bathroom could be shinier. Just needs some descaler on the shower head, hose and tiles to clean them up a bit 
A bit of a soulless feel to the place so brought our own Xmas lights in the Pound shop and this made our room feel less cold.
No xmas lights anywhere on the property which was a real shame 
The crispiest old torn bath mat ever and towels could be softer 
No drawers for underwear or smalls
No bathroom shelves for toiletries
Scary “cousin IT” old tatty curtain ties!
Scruffy garden, could use some solar lights
However, a good location 10 mins walk into town
Will be returning as although not the same feel as a hotel, it’s a good location and 10 mins walk into town and  we preferred not having to rush down to breakfast so ate in the room or in town.  Will bring more lights and make our own special touches next time.

A casual guest house which needs a little TLC

I had a terrible stay. 

The 1st night, getting out their shower, I slipped getting out because the shower is high off the ground and I had to step down, onto a tiled floor. I fell, hitting the side of my face on the floor. There was no bath mat, no hand rail only a tiled floor. It ruined my weekend being in Bath as I couldn’t walk properly, my foot was and is painful. 

I rang the owner (chasing 1 email and 1 contact form) and all I got was ‘thank you for letting us know’ I even sent photos of my injuries to them via text and I got nothing in the form of an apology.

Avoid

This hotel is awful. Garden dirty and no furniture provided anyway to sit out. No ironing board so iron on the floor no glass for tooth brushes just an empty holder. Public toilet loo roll holder in bathroom. No drawers or cupboards so live out of your suitcase

Needs a huge over haul

We’ve been staying here quite a few times over the years now, and we love it. It’s a nice period house with great spacious rooms. Quite and relaxing, with nice outlooks. And just a short walk into the town centre. 
Well worth a stay. 
Will definitely be coming back.

A definite must

We stayed here for a couple of nights in room 2. The room was beautiful, quiet, clean and spacious. We were given a warm welcome by Arthur who gave us some suggestions of things to do, and was available for any questions or problems. Parking was easy and it was a short walk to the very centre of Bath. I would absolutely stay again and recommend to others. Thank you for a wonderful stay! 

Beautiful room so close to the centre of Bath

Lovely house based rooms close to city centre and lovely eateries. Our room had the gold 4 poster bed, sofa and TV with a small kitchen adjacent to the small ensuite shower room. Not suitable for preparing big meals but ideal for tea and toast for breakfast. We were greeted and welcomed by the owner on arrival and informed of the area. Of street free parking and nice comfortable bed and duvet.

Birthday away trip.

Looking through ten years worth of reviews I have to agree that if only they would pay attention to the details this place could be truly lovely. Lack of care with cleaning (cobwebs in lamp, dirty wine glasses) and a general feeling of being tired and unloved (see photos). I was in Room 6 facing road. Very noisy as windows do not have top catch so could not be tighlg shut - sound from cars loud.

Great location with parking, friendly staff (Arthur). Bed very comfy and bathroom fine for me. Invest a little more time and effort to make this a wonderful stay rather than an ok one.

Could be perfect

I've stayed here a few times now, and have yet to be disappointed. The rooms and location are wonderful. My favourite room is the room looking out towards the abbey. Arthur, the manager, has always been polite and helpful. When visiting Bath, I am always sad if I can't manage to get a booking at Number 17.

Hits all the right notes

not as expected im sad to say.. four poster charm in a period dwelling it was not. shower didn't work, bed and sofa extremely uncomfortable. previous guests food left in fridge. car park minuscule. tv only had one channel so thankfully it was close to the town. spoil our stay tbh.
