Love the food, staff and chilled atmosphere, Chris & Jenny are lovely, you can have a walk along the beach also ' even though its nominated the dirtiest beach in the UK , which is a real shame,  its only a 10 minute walk from Bangor (City) now, not at all a city but a run down town.

Breakfast

Chris and Jenny are lovely friendly hosts and provide a great place to stay for business or pleasure. Their charming guesthouse looks out directly over the beach and is safe, comfortable and traditional.  They do such a lovely breakfast menu and know the area very well in terms of setting you up for evening dinners and daytime activities. Very helpful that they have parking at the back too. A really nice experience.

Comfy stop-over while on business.

I just love this place - the quirky eclectic atmosphere and decor , the views , the proximity to the sailing club , the friendly staff , the beautiful spacious bedrooms with all comforts catered for including the supply of Voya seaweed products in the en-suites ! 
The place is spotless and caters for your every comfort ! 
Chris and Jenny could not be more welcoming yet hover in the background until you need them so you really do feel at home in their beautiful lodge ! 
I haven’t even started on the breakfast !!! Make sure not to rush it as this is the best breakfast in the land ! Make time to savour it before you start your day ! Ballyholme is 5 hours from where I live but the reward at the end of my long journey is this dream lodge ! Thank you Chris  and Jenny for making the Cairn Bay what it is - a little bit of hotel heaven !

Home away from home !

Beautiful place, I would love it to reach it's potential. We came in as a group of 3 'on holiday', we felt invisible for the majority of our visit, which upset me as in general customer service in NI or anywhere else in Ireland is amazing.
The food was lovely when it arrived, and the waitress did notice that we hadn't eaten after nearly an hour. Tbf, they were busy, but although they did offer us a free coffee because of the staff shortages it just spoiled our day out as we had other things to do xx still a great place and setting xx food still incredible x

Beautiful with much potential

Interior design especially in the large bedrooms, is beautiful. Everything here is thought out, comfortable, sensible. The innkeepers clearly know what they are doing. The breakfast menu is varied, and the food is delicious, served in a dining room facing the sea. One of the best inns/bed and breakfasts we have stayed in, and we have stayed in many. Great walking all around this location too.

Perfect

We stayed at this lovely guest house for one night in February. A very welcome reception when we arrived. The decor is  quirky throughout and works really well. Our room had a lovely view over the bay as did the dining room for breakfast. As for the breakfast it really was delicious. Homemade granola, a variety of fruit and local yogurt followed by an excellent choice of cooked breakfasts. If the breakfast is anything to go by the café within the property- The Starfish would be well worth a visit. It is a convenient location to see in and around Bangor. I would thoroughly recommend if planning to stay in the area. Plenty parking, access to fresh milk and a fridge for guests to use and a VERY comfortable bed.

Overnight stay

I was overcharged on my bill and after contacting Cairn Bay they advised they would respond the next day. When they didn’t respond I followed up and they advised this is exactly the reason it says ‘no split bills’ on the menu and there is nothing we can do about it.  I felt this was a disappointing and abrupt interaction especially after saying they would investigate.  Please highlight overcharging immediately as they will not correct their overcharging later.

Check your bill

What an absolutley perfect stay we had at CairnBay Lodge.  Chris and Jenny could not have done anything to make us feel more welcome.  The room was absolutely luxurious and most importantly bed was divinely comfortable. The personal touches such as a chocolate bar and a packet of Tayto's in the room was very much appreciated. I cannot end this review without giving praise to their sumptous breakfast menu and excellent staff.  Thanks Chris and Jenny for a wonderful stay.

Chris and Jenny have a lovely guest house that is very nice. It is interesting, clean and ran very professional. The room was great, with magic views and the food I look forwarded to every day. Both of enjoyed so much we said we would be back...Thank you re Jason

Long Weekend away

Such a wonderful relaxing place to stay. Food is fabulous but most importantly all the staff are so friendly and helpful. 3rd stay but will definitely be back. The comfortable beds and beautiful sea view make this a very special place to stay.
