Thai O.T. Khaolak Resort

The staff and resort are excellent especially for couples wanting a retreat. The rooms had a good bathroom with shower, a decent sized bedroom with good air con and a small kitchen with a full size Fridge and microwave plus cutlery and plates etc. The surrounding area is quiet and the gardens are pleasant with palm trees, tropical plants and mango trees etc. The pool is good for swimming as it is a decent size and there was never any problem with getting sun loungers or parasols. There is no bar facilities but this is certainly no loss. The area is a short walk away to restaurants and about 15 mins to the beach but you can use the bikes free of charge so this is no problem. The only slight criticism would be about the breakfast. This was of a decent quality but lacked choice and consisted of eggs made fresh (omelette, scrambled, boiled or fried, bacon, toast and Jam, 3 cereals and bananas. watermelon, pineapple and plain yogurt. This tended to get a little tedious and would perhaps benefit from a few croissants or buns or maybe alternate the fruit with mangos or papaya etc. for a change.
