We could choose our bungalow and got the one with sea view! Very nice , clean place and very quiet when we were there (off-season). Friendly staff, very helpful in organizing trips and making the best of our vacation. Food was great, especially the chicken with cashew nut and the roti with vegetables. We went on an amazing snorkeling trip that was recommended to us - totally worth it. On the beach there were the most beautiful clams we have ever seen. Kayaking is for rent, we did not go. We would always go there again.

Quiet place on the beach

I didn't stay here,  but came for the Mexican food because reasons. First off, nearly everything you order here will be huge. So don't over order. 
The dishes themselves were as good as can be expected on a relatively isolated island. I had the chilli beef on rice,  chilli con cairne, and tacos. Yes,  I over ordered.
If you want a break from Thai food,  or miss eating Tex Mex cuisine, Buffalo Bay will see you right. 
Oh,  the beach view from the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. 

Sometimes you just need Mexican.

Don t take room near generator because koh Phayam haven't electricity everywhere

I booked through Agoda which was a mistake.  If you book with them you pay full price plus tax...it ends up much more than the advertised price...my room was good in the sense it had a water view...it was old and the bathroom smelled like mildew.  The power is not strong and hardly turns the lights on.  
after being dropped off there I discovered that there is not a store or any where to purchase anything.  We walked up and down the beach which is full of sharp small chips of corral that hurt your feet looking for some place to eat....good luck with that...very little to chose from.  Decided out of desperation to eat at the restaurant at the resort....WHAT A MISTAKE  the food was bland and had no taste, the price was very high and the mosquitoes were like small birds.....where I asked the server for a fan  to keep the mosquitoes off us he brought one...but there is not enough power in the lines to run the fan....we were the 3rd week in January and we were the only ones at the restaurant...that should have been a clue....the young lady behind the desk as nice and the place is quite except for barking dogs and early in the morning.  I wish I had read the reviews here earlier and not booked at all or at least not booked through Agoda.... I won't make this mistake again.....EVER

One of the worst experiences I've had

Upon arrival at the resort we were impressed by the beautiful view but that was the only good thing as this turned out to be the worst place I have ever stayed thanks to the crazy young woman from behind reception. 

During our stay the room was reasonably nice although one night we were woken up by the fan setting on fire which caused us to have to sit on the balcony for 2 hours in the early hours of the morning, not ideal but I can forgive this as just old fittings on a remote island. 

The real issues arose once we had left and I realised I had left my passport behind, I politely called the young girl from behind reception asking to work with her to form a plan to return my passport which she refused to help with at all, after many emails, phone calls, the british embassy's involvement and her refusing to put me in contact with her manager or the owner we eventually reached an agreement for me to pay her an extortionate amount to get my passport back. The amount was way too much but I agreed to pay it as I had no other choice. Upon receiving the passport back after paying the extortionate amount I find the crazy woman had burned holes into the photograph page of my almost new passport (photo attached). 0/10, would not recommend

The rudest and craziest staff I have ever met, she put holes in my passport and blackmailed me for cash

The room is damp and for what you can get overpriced. If you like to be in a quiet place, maybe it is the place you are looking for. For us it was not nice to have to walk through the dirty sand to the room from the entrance, having to wash your feet, only to wake up some ugly, black mosquitos, which attacked immediately or joined you when entering the room. Maybe this counts for the whole island, we didn't like it. And we live in Thailand!
Breakfast was expensive, no lunch or diner being served due to lack of staff (April not yet low season)
Renting one of the kayaks would cost 300 baht per HOUR! A motorbike on the island costs less then that for a whole day.

Not worth the price

Compared to other bungalow sites on the island, this place is expensive and with very little love put into the details. Also the generator is very loud. If you get a bungalow in the back you will need to close the windows to sleep.
