47 reviewsMy husband, daughter and I stayed at Villa Romana for three nights in June and had the most wonderful time. I would highly recommend it! Andrew and Maria looked after us so well, driving us to a great restaurant on our first night and making sure that we were well looked after there. Maria made us delicious breakfasts and great seafood on our last day. They arranged the hire of scooters and boat trips for us, and gave us very helpful tips on the best places to explore. In fact, Andrew even lent my husband a long-sleeved shirt so that his arms wouldn't get sunburnt after driving around on his scooter! The villa is beautiful, spacious and surrounded by sea on three sides so we enjoyed stunning sunsets and sunrises. We stayed in the superior room on the first floor which was very comfortable and had its own sitting area where we could just relax and enjoy the sea view. Villa Romana is situated a short, inexpensive taxi ride away from Magong where we found a great variety of restaurants, shops and things to see and do. However, it was bliss to be able to escape back to this peaceful retreat each evening. It proved to be an ideal base to explore all the islands have to offer, including pretty beaches, fascinating geology, giant banyan trees, temples, traditional coral cottages, great food and the friendliest people you could hope to meet. We particularly enjoyed exploring Jibei Island on scooters, seeing the world-class 1.5 km long sand spit surrounded by crystal turquoise sea and the stone weirs that were built for fishing. Thank you Andrew, Maria and Isabel for being so welcoming and ensuring a truly wonderful stay on Penghu!
