For some years now I have stayed at the Silberhorn each winter to ski. It is a very good hotel, close to the railway station and cable car terminus, and in good snow conditions you can ski back to the rear of the hotel. Last year, after a change of management, standards slipped, but I am pleased to say that things have now returned to the level that I have come to expect. One change this year, and I note that this might not please everyone, is that the evening meals are now a buffet instead of full table service, although plates are still cleared. I have to say that from my point of view I find this better. You have more control of what you eat and in what quantities. Also, there is no waiting between courses if you are in a hurry. I can fully recommend this hotel and hope to be back next ski season.
