The location is very good, 3 minutes from the Piazza Grande, on a street in the old town that is not as glamorous and trendy as other locations in Locarno. I stayed in a single room – perfect for spending the night, everything was in perfect shape. The breakfast was delicious.

Good location, clean and friendly, moderate prices

The room for 1 person was way overpriced compared to other weekends (>300 for 2 nights in a 2* hotel) although the last event in the city (Locarno movie festival) finished the week before. The room was small but ok, except for the heading section of the bed covered with bare foam and the night stands made of cardboard boxes (picture). The employees were friendly and nice. The breakfast was lacking of choice.

Overpriced

The hotel is quite pricy for its facilities, but that is maybe due to the fact that all hotels in the city seem to be expensive. Very simple, albeit romantic. Staff at the reception was nice and welcoming. Breakfast was very good and generous. Location was quite good, central and in the historical part of town, with easy access to the main attractions of the city.

What a clean restaurant when you come
Inside, but when you come upstairs in the room. You missing some details

- everything in the room is from Ikea" you have the feeling you are in a showroom,
But with a great balcony and view. 

-Pillows where really bad I never had I my life in a hotel a pillow like this. It's better you sleep on the mattress.

-Bathroom is clean but small. And the plastic from the Shower is on some points black ;( I go with my finger over it and I clean it... so it's easy to clean right ?

But by the breakfast: everything where so nice. Fresh coffee , ham , some cheese, 

The egg they boild them really dead whhahah, so I eat only the white, the yellow where green grey.

But the woman is so nice who helped us,
She is so kind and lovely, smile want to help you and feel welcome ;) im happy that she helped us.

The man from the hotel who we meet when we came inside. He can learn from this woman to be more friendly and kind. Because you pay 130 fk per night !

I don't know if I come back. Because I miss Personalty in the room what we booked. Feels like we where in prison.

So my 2 point goes to the woman of the breakfast. 



Great Restaurant , Bad Room

We spent two nights here. The hotel is situated in the old part of Locarno, in a very pretty street. However, the room did not match this promise. It was spartan, and more like a college room than a hotel. The bathroom was clean but the only light was the one above the sink and one of the two bulbs kept flickering so there was often not enough light in the room. The bedside lamp bulb also blew out during our stay - coincidence I am sure but it did make for a gloomy evening. Although the beds were made after the first night the towels were not changed, which I was fine with but others may not be. On the upside, the breakfast was quite nice, with salmon as well as the usual meat and cheese, and a refreshing fruit salad. The restaurant specialises in fish and you can smell it in the evening, although mostly In the stairwell. If travelling with heavy suitcases note that there is a steep hill between the train station and the hotel, and there is no lift in the building (as expected - it is quite an old place). The staff did not offer to help with bags. The hotel also seemed to close during the day (we were given a key to get in when we checked in) so it would be worth confirming your check-in time to ensure there is someone to meet you. All in all, adequate, but I will not rush back.

Attractive location but soulless room

Location was within old town and close to main square - but thats where the good points end.

Do not believe the room photos on the website/booking.com/front door, they bear no resemblance to reality and are in fact plain and sparsly furnished with hard bed and non-existant pillow. No reception, we were "checked-in" by the fish monger 2 doors up after finding the hotel locked upon arrival at 3pm. Noise from restaurant and kitchen below can be disturbing, even on the top floor. Average breakfast. 

Don't misunderstand, the accomodation is perfectly functional and clean and I would have no problem staying at the hotel, the issue is the misrepresentation where you expect a nice romantic room, pay an appropriate price and then arrive to find hostel equivalent accomodation. Spend your $$ somewhere else and actually get what you are paying for. Very disappointing.
