Very good
6 reviewsNot quite sure what people expect from a cheap hostel. I’ve travelled extensively and stayed in all manner of hotels/hostels, and I have stayed in much worse places. 14 of us spent 2 nights here and I must say, I didn’t book it, and wouldn’t have if I had read the reviews, which would have been a shame. Check-in was painless and the receptionist was really nice, smiley, polite and willing to help and answer all our questions. Yes you have to pay for your sheets, but the alternative is they just charge everyone more money and include them, so really you’re not out of pocket. One of the rooms had a glass roof with no windows that got quite hot in the morning and throughout the day, but then again why visit such a city of all you want to do is sit around in the hostel all day. The other room wasn’t bad, bunk beds with 3 big windows that all opened. For anyone who has reviewed saying they’ve had things stolen. All bunks come with a decent sized sturdy locker, that locks really well if you have a padlock, which I would be surprised if you traveled without one. Therefore, it’s your own fault if you don’t use it and have your valuables taken. Guess what, used mine, didn’t have a thing taken. The toilets are mixed, but single loos, so some people might have an issue with that. Some didn’t have toilet roll, but majority did. Male showers were okay, plenty of them (6 on second floor) and had no issues there. Communal areas were large, decent kitchen and plenty of fridge space, however I didn’t use them. There were more older people staying in the hostel than I expected, but at know point did I see groups of old men hanging around. At the end of the day, if people are staying and and use the communal areas you can’t really complain about them. Crime in general on Stockholm is very low, I can’t see it being any different in the hostel. All in all, you get what you pay for. Cheap, great location, staff were friendly, facilities and communal areas fine especially for the price. I would stay again and I would recommend.
