Just back from an amazing 2 week stay at this beautiful hotel and can’t wait to return. From being greeted so warmly on our arrival everyone was so kind. We  stayed in a beautiful villa which was perfect. All staff from gardeners to managers couldn’t have been more helpful. It was our wedding anniversary and it was as if all the staff knew greeting us with “Happy Anniversary” whenever we met them. Evening meal in the Cove which was perfect. Food was exceptional at all times with some extra treats from JJ (thank you). Entertainment was fun & the animation team are brilliant. Lots of great memories from all of them and special mention to the young lady who is expecting her baby in a few weeks. Thank you all so much for making our holiday exceptional and we cannot wait to see you all again in 2026 🤞

Exceptional

First time to Srilanka won't be our last.
From the lovely lady checking us in. to the day we left, what a place.
The gardeners to the senior staff always a good morning, nothing never to much trouble always a friendly smile, the room made up and turned down every day with a flower given and a smile.
I'm in my 60's not old but the animation team still asked if we wanted to participate, which, on some occasions we did and was a great laugh. Brilliant 👏.
Restaurant staff,can't say enough, polite friendly and always a smile 😃.
Chefs 👨‍🍳  amazing that's great food on a large scale, not easy to do before people condemn they need to relise the hours they put in to keep the food flowing and trying to keep it piping hot like we have in the UK is not achievable, they turn it as they can and replenish as and when needed, excellent job.
Not many places I have stayed and they have a chilled salad room and separate chilled desert room.
Spoiled for choice to be fair.
And always a choice of the waves if not happy with the norm. We did go to the waves for an anniversary meal on 1 occasion and was not disappointed, it was lush 😋.
Entertainment on a night was not UK entertainment, but we had a great time and sang along and to be honest, danced and had a great time and made great memories.
We were also there when the 400 guests came into the hotel, this is not a norm and to be honest if you don't like a bit of noise round the main pool, there's always the quieter pool to go to which was not effected by the hotel promotion.
In our top 3 destinations loved it. Thank you to all at the dolphin 🐬 
We will be back in 2026

First time to Srilanka

My family and I recently returned from a 2-week holiday in Sri Lanka, 
We booked though tui and were very excited.
 
On arrival hotel seemed very nice but our opinions started to change. 
The reception staff almost appeared to be anti-English, whether it was the language barrier but we found them arrogant unhelpful and basically rude. 
We booked excursions outside of the hotel, had booked breakfast to take away the night before. We were asked at reception 'trip departure time, if we wanted lunch also and what time we wanted to collect '. Unfortunately, we left without breakfast boxes as it had been put down as 5am sit down meal. Unsure why we were asked all of the above questions if we wanted sit down!! We asked if we could just bag a few items up considering it was apparently on the table 10 yards away. Were told no. We didnt have time to sit down for food as we were due to depart. Again, a further expense to us having to purchase breakfast whilst out. 
 
The beach, 
We found the beach at the resort was disgusting! Locals burning and discarding rubbish on the beach for us not a nice place to spend any time! Pile of black bin bags with flies everywhere, plastic all along the shoreline etc.

The room, 
We upgraded to a waterfront villa, again the thought of it is lovely but reality very different. We found the resort to have a massive crow problem, with them fighting, stealing food, nesting birds making a constant racket during all hours. The feral dogs are a nightmare, following you, begging, being outside your room door all the time. Again, Ferral cats, begging for food, all around your table at meal times etc. 
The local tour operators are relentless! Considering it’s inside the hotel grounds we found it really hard work constantly trying to be sold day trips tuktuks “ no thank you “ means nothing to them!

The food 
As a family we are quite well travelled and enjoy trying local food and cuisine and what we had was really nice but our 9 year old struggled with 2 weeks of majorly spicy curry. If I’m honest we all struggled there’s minimal choices of anything else for a change. The staff were lovely inside the restaurant however if I  ( male) wasn’t present my partner was ignored, which unfortunately was the case on a couple of occasions she went for food alone. I understand this is a cultural difference but it’s in a family hotel so doesn’t really work.

Location 
As an English tourists most of the things we wanted to do as a family were about 3 hours away so we lost a massive part of our day travelling. We did both organised tours and rented a car either way the roads are horrendous.
In my opinion A sit round the pool holiday it’s ok but to see the country go somewhere else! 

Activities 
We tried to book rowing on the one day, something the hotel advertised! Reception told us to go to the restaurant down the road, they had no idea, asked again at hotel reception, who made a call, got sent to the pool bar, again clueless, finally found someone and booked for 10am the following morning. 8.15pm that evening informed due to a broken step it was unsafe for us but would be ok for young boys to do???? 

On the one day the hotel were holding a huge corporate event. 400 people descended on the hotel. Right next to the family pool and bar area. With no notice for guests staying. Music blaring to the point you had to shout to hear each other. Should we have been given notification we could have planned a day out around this.

In conclusion in my honest opinion sadly I won’t return. I would rather take my hard earned money elsewhere both country and hotel have been a huge let down.

Honest review.

We was delighted with our stay at this hotel. The property is large and pleasant, offering a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. 
The staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and always available to assist. 
The food was delicious, though occasionally on the spicy side, which added a nice touch of flavor. 
The pool area was enjoyable and provided a relaxing environment. 
Additionally, the beachfront was romantic and perfect for evening strolls. 
Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful Stay with Great Amenities and Friendly Staff

Our stay was fabulous because club hotel dolphin's staff gave us incredible service during the stay. Thank you very much for everything that you have given for us😍
F&B  were superb at the hotel. Specially need to mention the two characters in the front office staff Lakshan and Angela was very helpful and friendly. Thanks again to all.

Amazing Stay

Great place with good entertainment. Good food, great rooms. Special thanks to Kalindu and Imal for their support and entertainment. Thank you so much for making our vacation time a memorable one. I will recommend many friends to come to this hotel.

Kalindu, Imal were great help and splendid to hangout and play volleyball with :)  The food and drinks were great. The rooms are well organized and clean. It was a fantastic environment to enjoy and spend family time with. Will be sure to recommend to friends!

Much better than any other hotel i’ve been to in srilanka. Special shoutout to kalindu and imal. They have great spirit!

Had a lovely stay at the resort. Sithmi is the best receptionist I have ever met. She was super friendly and very accomodating for my late night flight out of Sri Lanka. She also advised me on the different packages that included all food and drinks that I was able to upgrade to and this made my stay much more enjoyable. Thanks Sithmi for making my stay so memorable.

Best resort if Negombo

We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The majority of the staff is wonderful, friendly, and customer focused : waiters, reception staff, cleaners, animators - all hotel employees. Especially I remember Kalindu, who stood out in particular among the animators. Apart from fulfilling his professional role, he also told us a lot if Sri Lanka.

We were there in all inclusive option. All food was fresh and tasty.

All hotel area was clean and kids friendly.

I can truly recomended Club Hotel Delphin.

Nice pleace to stay

The Club Hotel Dolphin offers a delightful environment for relaxation and socializing with friends. I extend my gratitude to Kavindu for providing exemplary guidance throughout the day. The well-equipped billiards facilities ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants. Additionally, I commend the Animation team for their amicable and inclusive approach towards all guests. Their professionalism and friendliness contributed significantly to the overall positive atmosphere of the establishment.
