A great experience at the Fresco  Water Villa. Its rooms are clean. Good buffet. Clean pool. There is a particularly free environment. We enjoyed our time. Special thanks to the hotel staff and Mr. Samalka for providing such a wonderful experience.

Nice and calm atmosphere

Clean and comfortable green surrounding friendly and appropriate staff specially Shobika the front lady good value for money. Would like to have a bar fridge in the room.
Would recommend to this resort any traveller waiting’s to come to Srilanka

VERY Good EXPERIENCE

I chose Fresco for a longer period of time because of its perfect mixture of possibilities for daily excursions, location, comfort and lovely attentive staff.
Buffet gives a good variety of food and drinks. The clean bright room with all comfort -  only missing a decent chair - goes with a spatious private balcony with lovely views over the newly created garden which is idyllicly illuminated in the evening. The skilled maintainance group tries hard to upgrade all the systems including the wifi, which worked perfect during my 2 weeks stay.
Newly placed comfybeds and umbrellas around the pool are a bonus.
Management works very hard to lift up this hotel after difficult COVID and economical periods and reshape it into a modern bright place where they can measure up to all the tourists wishes and expectations.

While touring Sri Lanka we stayed at this place as a stop over as we wanted to visit Wild life sanctuary. The hotel is in a quite place with serene atmosphere, the cottages are nice and well laid out. The restaurant is centrally located but lacks the variety of food. More items are required. Staff is helpful and cordial.

A villa on the water body

Hotels very near to Sigiriya and situated in a quiet place. Nice pool and room was also clean. Reasonable place for the price. Not much variety in the bouffe and that's need to improve and also need to improve the cleanness at the restaurant. Staff was very helpful and front desk also attend to the need quickly.

Value for the money

We stayed 2 nights here. The staff was amazing, the property was good, rooms were nice, food was a buffet with different variety. Only drawback was the bathroom doors were not closing in our room. The safe wasn't working, the replacement safe was with keys, so wasn't safe. The management was informed of the same, but nothing was done about it.
Bonus: We got to be a part of a Sri Lankan wedding which was being held at the property.


Good Property 

Lots of greenery and open space with water villas. Check in process was quick however we were provided with a twin bed instead of king size. Later got it changed to a king bed room which was far away from the pool and on the 2nd floor.
Room 316. This room was not well maintained at all. It was a very disappointing stay here. The bed sheets were not clean and had stains on them. The floor was slippery for some reason. The hot water kettle was fully rusted and there were chip off on tea mugs.
Also, the food here was even more disappointing. Hardly any spread for vegetarians. There were very few choices with just 2 desserts.
Also. Since there is stagnant water in these villas, there are a lot of mosquitoes.
This is definitely not a 4 star hotel. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all to anyone.

Not Recommended. They lack hygiene and cleanliness in rooms.

This place I have chosen to accommodate a group of 51 pax and the hospitality experience was amazing. Leading from the front mr.Hilary (f/o) and Mr.Kumara (f&b) did make sure my group feels at home. They were handling things in a very professional manner which I liked since I am a hotelier for over two decades. I would like to thank the whole team on behalf of my group which includes f/o, f&b, hk & kitchen staff for doing their best to satisfy my group without a fail. I do recommend Fresco Water Villa for all market without a doubt.
