We can definitely recommend this place, rooms are clean and owner lady is very kind, she cooked an awesome dinner for us :) The place is little bit cold, but you are in hills, so you have to expect this ;)

Very nice place :)

The scenery is beautiful from this place, as it's set on a hill. There's a short cut into town which is much quicker than taking the road. The rooms are clean and tidy. Mali and Rajith are lovely people who make you feel at home in their home. Mali cooked us a wonderful Sri Lankan meal finished with an excellent fruit salad. Her husband took us on a trip to the tea plantations and waterfalls which is one of my favourite parts of my whole time in Sri Lanka. The trip was a good price and Rajith encouraged us to take our time. The best thing was the shower is really hot, and when we were there the weather was quite cold so a hot hot shower was great. This is a good place to stay if you really want to know more about Sri Lanka and get to know a nice family. The only things I would recommend is some rugs on the floor by the bed as it was quite cold when you got up in the night. Overall it was great.

Family style stay

I stayed here with a friend, the night before going to the World's End trail. We arrived in Nuwara Eliya late and were struggling to find a place to stay, when we were recommended Hill View. The rooms were basic, but the host was very welcoming and helpful. The place had a nice family atmosphere and was perfect for one night, before moving on. 

One night stay.

This is a simple guesthouse (my room was VERY small and cold) with basic amenities (had to request a towel and soap, wifi not provided) that is adequate for one night.

I was dropped here after a driver (a young guy related to the owner and calling himself Lion) from the train station who told me (and the other people in his jeep that he was transporting) that our accommodation was way too far out of town.

I initially thought something was amiss when he kept changing everyone's accommodation, and drove erratically (including not even letting elderly people cross the road without almost clipping them in his jeep). He proceeded to 'sell' us tours and that we needed him in this town as he was so 'trustworthy'. He kept telling me to go out with him for beers and was very creepy saying that I was a 'special' tourist and he had a 'great connection' with me. As a solo woman traveller, this was scary and I kept declining. He asked for prepayment of a tour (I was only prepared to give a deposit) and was very unhappy when I wouldn't pay in full. The next day was the final straw when he got aggressive when I declined going on a tour with him and grabbed me tightly by the arm and yelled at me in the Main Street of town. 

I later met with some other tourists who experienced him scamming them with tours. They warned me to stay away from him. 

In short, passable accommodation in the warmer months but avoid the relative driver at all costs!!!! 

Good for a stopover but watch the dodgy driver

DO NOT STAY HERE. The man who runs this place is horrible. When asked if there was wifi he said yes. There was never wifi.  Not even a network to connect to. As a solo traveler it was very hard to feel safe without it. He proceeded to argue with me that he never said there was wifi. Literally the only reason I chose there was for the wifi. Absolutely freezing in the room. Window was broken and wind was seeping in and shaking the windows and bedroom door. There is a loud banging noise from the roof below the bungalow. Needless to say I did not sleep at all. Bathroom lights weren’t working and had to go to another room to use it. Blood stained sheets and blanket haven’t been washed in who knows how long. The owner knew of these problems when I confronted him in the morning. Avoid this place at all costs.
