We loved staying here. Sea breeze and fan compensated for no air conditioning. We found the quality of the food at the restaurant a little variable. However it was a great place to sit. I saw quite a lot of wildlife from there. Unfortunately, despite reviews saying there was a nearby place to swim, it was too rough. There are several places to eat within a few minutes walk. We appreciated being able to borrow kayaks to look at the lagoon. My husband found a good book to read at the back of the restaurant and made good use of the hammocks. It was the perfect, away from the crowds location.

Great place for a quiet, relaxing visit

Nice location. Very remote and quiet. Lots of wildlife and free kayaks.
It is situated right on the beach on a very lonely beach. Only very very few people there. Not the place for people who wants parties but excellent for people who need a quiet retreat.

Nice and quiet place right on the beach

We stayed in the best room with the sea view. It's right on the beach and it was perfect. Breakfast not included but we loved going out on the kayaks which are free! 
Absolutely loved staying here, what a luxery.

Beautiful stay

If you are looking for a place to find peace and relaxation this is the place to be. We spent 7 nights at this peaceful small hotel that have everything you need. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy. Simple but neat. Very price worthy accommodation. Restaurant is beautiful located by the lagoon over watching the beach and ocean. Serves simple, but excellent food and a continental breakfast and some times they throw in some extra Sri Lankan specialties as today when we were served “Gods rice”.
Beach is beautiful with a quite rough sea, but do not worry. If you are lucky (which we have been) you find your way, either with a tuk-tuk or a 2,3km walk along the beach to Monks pool were you have the whole beach for yourself and were there is a protective reef. Must say that this part must qualify to one of the worlds top 5 beaches in the world and we have seen many. Did we tell you about the staff and the owner? Super friendly and very helpful and they fulfill all of your needs. We can definitely recommend this place.

We found Budda in us

close to the rock pool, with the kitchen/ restaurant right on the lagune AND on the beach, where they serve a very tasty sri-lankan breakfast on request. the rooms are in good condition, three of them w/ a great view of the ocean. Canoes for free, a Tuk Tuk to Tangalle bus station was 400 R. 
A small hint for this beach in general: Don't leave any of your stuff out of reach - the friendly and playful beach dogs might go for it in bright daylight or at night, on the beach or on the first floor terrasse - peeing on your towel, stealing a swimming mask or a shoe.) 

supernice staff, perfect spot, great value

We stayed here for two nights and it is in the most beautiful setting - literally right on the beach! It has WiFi and mosquito nets and they provide mattresses for the sun loungers if you want to use them. 

The restaurant serves good Sri Lankan food and we would recommend the rice and curry. It’s built out over the river and so the views from any direction are amazing. The staff are friendly and attentive and will organise transport for you if you need it. 

There are other little restaurants up and down the beach but you can’t see them from the resort, it feels like you have the world to yourself.

Gorgeous and Quiet

We always have the same room so we Know what we are coming to. Admittedly we hada great shock this year, finding that the force of nature had removed 13 coconut palms, along with the land they stood on,and undermined and washed away the old restaurant. However the new restaurant now overhangs the lagoon, and the view from our room  to the beach and sea was less interrupted. The access bridge over the lagoon was being rebuilt at last but this means a sometimes precarious pontoon crossing especially if it is raining. The only thing that lets this place down is the menu in the restaurant which is short on Sri Lankan dishes.

Nice room with beautiful view, the staff were very friendly and would help with anything. Wifi good. Beach within 50 metres. Restaurant at hotel very tasty food and breakfast. Two things to note, its quite remote, but there are other restaurants around, just remember to book a table during the day, as they all cook to order. they were all very good. Also, the bridge on the way collapsed in early 2017. Its currently being rebuilt. There is a small ferry/boat that will transport you across the bridge and Lonely beach is only another 150m away - which is an easy walk or a very short tuk tuk if you have heavy bags. Great place! They will also arrange for the local boatman to take you for a trip around the lagoon on a traditional fishing boat.

Relaxing stopover

Really nice place with good food. Great place to get away from crowds and enjoy your holiday.  Very nice staff. You can get fresh seafood straight from the ocean. Don’t forget to order a Grilled Paraw fish!
