Room No 5 AC & Hot water notworking at all.Celing lights also fused.TV also out of Order Property owner & Ladies staff helpful.Reasonable Price.if you leave the Premises early morning  becarefull with Dog & need proper communicate with Owner.

Friendly staff who were accommodating and bed was comfy. Didn’t like how majority of bathrooms the shower and toilet were together or there were no shower screens so water went everywhere as drains weren’t big enough. Good for an overnight stay.

We are a couple and we came here for a one night. People in this hotel is very friendly and we enjoyed the night in here. The food her is also very nice, they had enough food we want. They gave us a good service during the stay. I highly recommend to stay in this villa if you come to Kandy.

Very friendly Staff.

I was on a 4 night/5 day tour culminating in a 'rest' in Hikkaduwa and this hotel was one that seemed to get consistently good reviews although the last one wasn't!
Vino Villa is situated on a fairly steep side road on the outskirts of Kandy so be prepared to either walk along a busy road beside the lake or take a tuk tuk to reach the town. On arrival I was greeted by extremely friendly staff and as I needed my caffeine fix (I know, a coffee lover in a tea drinking county!) a kettle, (unfortunately none in the room), was promptly produced and the staff watched in amazement as I showed them how to use a cafetiere.
The room was fine, double bed but no wardrobe, hair drier and plug adaptor. My only real gripe was that the water from the shower flooded the bathroom and the outside light switch for the bathroom didn't work.
There was a kitchen area immediately outside my room and although a couple of the staff were watching the 'all-important-cricket-match', it was a little disconcerting for me as 
when I needed to go in and out of my room, there was somebody more or less outside the bedroom door. To be fair, it only happened once but the TV might be better away from the bedrooms?
Breakfast was excellent and served promptly at the time I asked and the service I received during my stay was excellent. It is a small hotel, which is one of the reasons for which it was chosen and not full whilst I was there. Note, no lift.

Interesting location.......

What a huge dump of a hotel, they say this is one of the nicest but don't be fooled it is a one star monstrosity.
Staff is very poor responding....when we asked for B/fast for 02 person, they have given one fork & knife...what a shame.... In the night when we asked for hot water from the reception they never respond....
....AVOID THIS HOTEL....

The owner as well as the staff there were very friendly and went out of the way to help us in whatever we asked for. The rooms were spacious, well decorated and clean with a big bed. A nice little balcony outside each room with tables and chairs for the evening. Breakfast was excellent and had a good variety comprising of Lankan delicacies, fresh fruits and juices, hot beverages, eggs made as per your requirements, etc. The view from the Villa was just mesmerizing, as it was on a hilltop. Very close to the Kandy lake as well.  
 My only advise to the Villa owner would be to provide a facility for accepting debit/credit cards, apart from cash, upon check out, as many visitors don't carry cash with them while visiting the place, in case of theft.
