I stayed here in December last year and I found the place very unwelcoming. I faced  trouble when I came to check in the evening and they said all the rooms were booked out even though I had made a reservation at the resort. The owner Aunra seemed drunk and was behaving inappropriately. He kept staring at me and was asking  me personal questions which I did not like to answer. It was really off-setting and the way he spoke was very disrespectful. I was lost for a moment since I couldn't find anywhere else to stay at that time. He got me a room after wasting two more hours.  I had to go through so much trouble to get a room here and if it wasn't in the evening I would have gone somewhere else. I booked the place for two days but I left the next morning since my anxiety was crippling and I kept feeling insecure staying at this place. 

And the room was small, nothing fancy. They served me dinner really late into the night! The caretakers weren't talkative and weren't that friendly either. Overall I'd say I felt very uneasy being here. The caretakers and the owners do not know basic manners it seems! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone at all! 

Inappropriate and disrespectful treatment

Travel with my mother. We have got a tripple room, two nights 75$ with nice breakfest. They do even nice dinner. Nice pool, friendly stuff. Highly recomended of you stay in Kandy. Room 107 got big window, big bathroom, privat terasse👌🏾

Great stay

During our trip to Kandy, my wife, little son and I stayed for two nights in the Green View Holiday Resort. In general the hotel is nice (also equipped with a nice pool) and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Our host and his staff was really kind and they gave us a lot of useful hints on Kandy and the surrounding area. Furthermore, every morning they made us a delicious breakfast.
The guesthouse is situated in Walala (15 km from the city center of Kandy), a very quiet and peaceful (nothing special in the close surrounding of the guesthouse) area northwest of Kandy. To reach the guesthouse or city center you have to take either the bus (arround 25 to 30 minutes and very cheap) or a Tuktuk (arround 15 to 20 minutes and way more expensive than the bus).
However, I want to mention that the free WiFi didn't work that well (either very slow or no connection at all) and frow our point of view more toilet articles should be included (e.g. shower gel for each day).
Nevertheless we had a good time at the Green View Holiday Resort we can totally recommend it. 

Nice guesthouse and gentle host

We enjoyed our stay at Green View Holiday Resort. The owner was very welcoming and helped us with directions, ordering taxis etc. We had two rooms on the ground floor - both were a good size with a/c and ensuites. Breakfast was tasty, fruit pancakes eggs toast, and served either by the front drive or upstairs overlooking the pool. The pool was a highlight, larger than it looks online and very clean. Negatives were that the rooms don't have natural light or any views. Also be aware the hotel is a long way from Kandy - we either used tuk tuks which took around 30 mins and cost 750-1000 rupees, or took the local bus for 40 rupees each which took roughly the same time. The owner will explain where to take it from. So location fine for one or two nights max but you'll want to stay out in Kandy all day rather than make multiple trips! 

Nice stay outside of Kandh

We stayed at his hotel one night.  We arrived at 6:30 pm and were told that dinner would be served at 8pm.  In the end we ate at 9pm, which is quite late for children between 8 and 12 who were tired of the long bus journey.  We ordered beer, which arrived quite some time later by tuk-tuk (?!?).  We didn’t see any proper dining room in the hotel and were served our dinner and breakfast on small tables next to the parking lot.  The rooms were cleaned but the smell of bleach was very strong and unpleasant.  The room are very small so we had to take two for our family of 5.  Finally there was no fridge in the room and no view at all.  The only positive points were the cheap price and the wonderful pool.

Disappointing considering the good reviews

We used this Place on our way from the Northn  towards the South Leg of our Sri Lanka Tour and as a transit point for our 3 day Knuckles Forest Range Trek. It's a Guest House-- a large Bungalow actually with about 12 rooms or so. Dining area and a well maintained decent sized Swimming Pool.The Owner - Anura is a Gentle, Polite and Extremely Helpful always smiling person who is there for you all the time. Selva is his Man Friday and goes out of his way to please. Private, Clean and good sized rooms with good A/Cs and clean neat linen. Sleep quality is excellent. Bathroms are fresh, new and well kept.
The place is a few kms outside Kandy City and not ideal to Visit the City...but p[erfect if u want to stay just outside and away from the traffic and hustle of the city.Overall --superb VFM and totally worth it if it suits your purpose.
