I stayed here in January whilst attending the Galle Literary Festival ... what a great choice!

The room i occupied was clean, comfortable and stylish. The on site team were attentive without being intrusive .. if we required anything our request was fulfilled willingly and with a smile.

There are 3 rooms available in this delightful historic home converted to a Boutique Villa .. I occupied the first floor family room ( double plus twin rooms with a shared bathroom) but there is a master bedroom on the first floor and another double on the ground floor. 

The breakfast served as 'you like it' western or Sri Lankan ... I recommend the delicious Egg Hoppers or the Egg Curry with String Hoppers if you like to embrace the  local cuisine. 

There is plenty of space within the Villa to sit and contemplate or read a book although no garden as such. 

With so many places in the Galle Fort to choose from ... and it is a regular destination for me ... this is an excellent choice for 'mid range budget' travellers who relish a comfortable but authentic experience.

Great location and accommodation

A fabulous location for a short stay in Galle , bundles of charm and character !! A large clean room and bathroom , bed was big four poster with nets as per pictures. Location is peaceful but less than a minute to bars and restaurants. Breakfast is a social affair around one table and the breakfast curry is a must try !

Galle Fort for Cricket

Travelling as a family with two kids aged 10,8.  We booked the family room which is one king bed room and a twin bed room with a shared bathroom between the rooms.  This worked really well for our family.  Both rooms had good air-con and fans so we were always comfortable.  Points to note: There are no TV's in the rooms, no bottled water but easily bought at the corner shop, the location is excellent.  Our host Zarrouk was wonderful and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed.  Breakfast was very generous and we had to ask to down-size the portions, so you won't go hungry.  The guesthouse is fairly new and has a lot of potential to become a lovely oasis in the Galle Fort.  We enjoyed our 3 nights here and would recommend it as a good mid-budget option for families. A Good Family Guest House

Arriving at Villa Razi reminded me of arriving at my grand father’s ancestral home. Located in a quiet street off one of the happening areas of Galle Fort, the beautiful and serene interiors were a balm to us as we arrived bedraggled after a long drive from Ella and a wildlife safari in the heat. Our rooms upstairs were fantastic. With very efficient ac and fan and the most comfortable bed of our trip, falling and staying asleep was a breeze. The host couldn’t do enough to help- assisting with luggage, giving us tips as to where to go etc. I would have dearly loved the famous Sri Lankan breakfast but both of our mornings we were served toast with eggs and juice. While adequate, it is something we could get anywhere. The fresh mango and pineapple juices were fabulous though! Villa Razi is highly recommended from me and I’d dearly love to come back and spend more time exploring the city from this place. We realised just prior to checkout that the fine print on our booking.com email specified that payment was cash only. We thus scampered to find an atm to ensure we had enough rupees. In 2018, it’s surprising that a hotel of this caliber doesn’t accept credit cards for accommodation. That really was the only minor blight in an otherwise fantastic stay. 

A gem in Galle, thanks to its host

I have stayed at Villa Razi on two separate occasions and both stays have been absolutely wonderful. The rooms are beautifully appointed in refurbished historic mansion. The bathrooms are modern and clean, with bedroom furnished with antiques. Breakfasts are amazing and do try the Sri Lankan breakfasts, with something different and delicious everyday. The best part of Villa Razi is the host Zarook. He goes above and beyond to ensure you have the best possible stay. He is very knowledgeable about Galle, Sri Lanka and whole lot of other things and very helpful with organising all of your needs. He is the heart and soul of Villa Razi. I will certainly stay here again and recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet and clean accommodation within Galle Fort.
