The room was large enough and beautifully clean. The same goes for the bathroom, with a spacious shower, clean towels, and soap. The air conditioning made the stay very pleasant. It is very well located, with good access to the train station. We would definitely recommend it!

Good place

I think most reviews about this hotels is wrong . I sow pictures upload but those are not pictures in CITY BEDS THE REGENT . There is 2 hotels in same building CITY BEDS THE REGENT and  HOTEL J CITY BEDS. While HOTEL J CITY BEDS Operate whole building , CITY BED THE REGENT  ONLY HAVE 3 ROOMS in 3rd floor. 

City beds the regent don’t have nice looking rooms , it just normal . But it’s good for the price . 

Norma place

Very clean, simple accommodation 10 minutes walk from Colombo Fort train station. Helpful staff. Rooms on the 2nd floor are slightly more expensive, but more spacious and newer. At a distance of 300 meters is a very good and not very expensive restaurant The Barge Cafe and Restaurant.

Rooms were okay, but the hotel itself was creepy and we felt very uncomfortable there. We arrived late at night, and the area didn't seem nice. There was a big road right next to the room, and the traffic made lot of noise. Staff were not very kind, but they were ok. We would never go again. 

Felt uncomfortable there

We got to Colombo bus station from the airport and walked straight to the hotel. Took us about 15-20 minutes to walk to the place. The hosts were extremely gracious and welcoming. Despite getting a confirmation that our room would be ready on arrival, it was not and we had to wait a little bit while they readied the room. This was not a bother at all as there was a place to wait, wash up and rest. Our rooms were ready shortly and looked exactly the way they did in pictures we saw before booking. Spacious, super neat, extremely clean with all amenities one would need, including a coffee maker and kettle. Being supporters of the tiny living movement, my wife and I loved the minimalist design of the place. There is a refrigerator in the lobby to buy cold water and soft drinks. Those who need laundry service can avail it at the reception too. Centrally located, it’s about a 10 minute walk to Fort Train Station, 20 minute walk to the beach. There are also a lot of eateries nearby. They’ve also set up a tourist info wall in the lobby which directs you to places to eat and how far they are, very thoughtful. Great place to stay at, if you’re in Colombo and want to be close to the train and bus stations as well as good eateries I’d recommend staying at City Beds. 

Great Place, Must Stay 

We only needed somewhere to rest our head for one night before heading onto Galle. Fort train station only 5mim walk away, room was large and clean with good air conditioner. Best part was how helpful and nice the staff were. They were waiting for us outside when we checked in at 1am then helped us with our Uber when it was time to leave as trains were on strike. Would happily stay again. great spot for a quick stop
